Harrison Wins Twice, Swimming Sweeps 50 Free in Day One against Ouachita Baptist, Ozarks

ARKADELPHIA, Ark. - Centenary Gents senior Zachary Harrison took the 100 and 200 freestyle titles, while freshman McRee Smith for the Gents and senior Caitlyn Faulhaber for the Ladies won the 50 freestyle in day one of the meet with Ouachita Baptist and the University of the Ozarks Friday night, September 22.

Harrison captured the 100 free in 48.63 and touched the wall in 1:47.70 for the victory in the 200. In his collegiate debut, Smith won the 50 free by 0.80 seconds with a time on 22.56.

Also on the day, Smith took second in the 100 fly with a time of 54.40.

Faulhaber in the 50 free (27.00) and junior Elena Ring in the 100 butterfly (1:04.90) led the Ladies with event wins. Ring also took second in the 200 free with a time of 2:13.90.

Rounding out the runner-up finishes for the Ladies were freshman Jesse Hageman in the 100 backstroke with a time of 1:10.57. Sophomore Jessi Jordan finished second in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:15.79.

Centenary returns to action Saturday morning, September 23, at 10 a.m. against Ouachita Baptist and the University of the Ozarks at 10 a.m.
