Gents 400 Medley Relay Finishes All-Conference in Day 3 of SCAC Championships

THE COLONY, Texas - The Gents 400 Medley relay team finished All-Conference to lead Centenary Swimming on day three of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Swimming Championships on Friday night, February 16.

The Gents are fourth (311 points) while the Ladies (170 points) remained fifth in the team standings. Trinity continues to lead for both the Men's and Women's Championships.

The quartet of seniors Zachary Harrison, Roberto-Roig Perez, and Anthony McDonald with freshman Nick Braby finished third with a time of 3:34.69 to finish All-Conference.

Other top performances on the night include sophomore Jessi Jordan in the 100 breaststroke. Already fifth on the Ladies performance list in the event, she improved her personal best in the prelims by more than a second with a time of 1:08.96. She swam the finals in 1:09.45 to finish sixth.

Junior Blake Smith finished ninth in the 100 butterfly. His mark of 52.14 is tied for the ninth-best time in Gents swimming history.

Junior Zack Norton accomplished a Centenary NCAA Division III first when he dove in the 1-meter springboard event. He finished sixth in the event with a total score of 232.75.

The Ladies and Gents swimming teams finish the 2018 SCAC Championships Saturday, February 17, with finals in the 1650 freestyle, 200 backstroke, 100 freestyle, 200 breaststroke, 200 butterfly, and the 400 freestyle relay. Prelims begin at 10:30 a.m. with event finals starting at 5:45 p.m.
