Gents Fourth, Ladies Fifth after Day 1 at SCAC Swimming Championships

THE COLONY, Texas - The Gents are fourth with 80 points while the Ladies are fifth with 56 points for Centenary swimming after day one of the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championships on Wednesday, February 14.

Both the Ladies and Gents competed in a pair of relays. The highest finish of the night came for the Gents in the 800 freestyle relay. The team of seniors Zach Harrison and Anthony McDonald with sophomores Eddie Dyess and Jordan St. Pierre touched the wall in 7:09.74 to finish fourth. The other Gents relay quartet of Dyess, Harrison, McDonald, and senior Roberto Roig-Perez in the 200 medley finished fifth with a time of 1:37.73.

Both the Ladies 200 medley and 800 free relays finished fifth. The 800 freestyle relay team of senior Caitlyn Faulhaber, juniors Elena Ring and Rebecca Dunn, and sophomore Jessi Jordan touched the wall in 8:29.22. Jordan, Ring, and Faulhaber teamed up with freshman Jesseca Hageman in the 200 medley relay with a time of 1:55.36.

Centenary swimming returns to action Thursday, February 15, with the preliminaries and finals of the 200 freestyle relay, 500 freestyle, 200 IM, and 50 freestyle. Prelims are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. with finals slated to kick off at 6 p.m.
