The Gents (0-0-1) fell 1-0 to the Rhodes College Lynx on Sunday in its final match of the 2021 Hendrix Invitational in Conway, Ark. in their most recent contest. Centenary began the weekend with a tie after earning a hard-fought double-overtime draw versus the host Hendrix College Warriors in their season opener on Sept. 3. Ozarks enters Friday's match at 1-0 on the young season after the Eagles blanked Ecclesia 3-0 at home on Friday in their season opener. The teams are meeting for just the second time after Ozarks registered a 2-0 win over the Gents on Sept. 3, 2017.

Centenary senior GK Sami Borchalli (Lafayette, La.) played all 90 minutes against Rhodes and made two saves and was named to the All-Tournament team as he played 200 total minutes during the weekend and allowed just one goal and made five saves. He played all 110 minutes of the Gents' double-overtime scoreless tie on Friday versus Hendrix and made three saves as he recorded his 10th-career shutout. Borchalli enters Friday's match second in the conference in goals against average (0.45) and is tied for seventh in saves (5).

Senior MF Cole Schultz (Denham Springs, La.) joined Borchalli on the all-tournament squad. He played a combined 101 minutes in the two matches. Sophomore D/MF Michael Smith (Baton Rouge, La.) led the Gents with three shots and junior MF Jaron Petreas (Denton, Texas) took a pair of shots, with one on goal in Sunday's match versus Rhodes.

The Gents wrap up the weekend with another non-conference match versus the Huntingdon College Hawks on Sunday, Sept. 12 at 1 p.m. The Gents finished 4-1-3 at home last season and are 11-4-3 in their last 18 home matches at Mayo Field.

Centenary defeated Jarvis Christian, 2-1, in an exhibition match back on Aug. 20 at home, but Friday's match will be the Gents' first official contest since defeating St. Thomas in the 2020-21 SCAC Championship Game on April 25 on their home turf.
