Petreas And Allred Named To 2021 All-SCAC Men's Soccer Team
The Centenary men’s soccer team landed two players on the 2021 All-SCAC Men's Soccer Team as junior MF Jaron Petreas (Denton, Texas) and freshman F Dylan Allred (Lafayette, La.) represent the Gents on the prestigious squad, the league office announced on Thursday.
Lawrenceville, Ga. – The Centenary men's soccer team landed two players on the 2021 All-SCAC Men's Soccer Team as junior MF Jaron Petreas (Denton, Texas) and freshman F Dylan Allred (Lafayette, La.) represent the Gents on the prestigious squad, the league office announced on Thursday.
Petreas was named Honorable-Mention while Allred earned a spot on the All-Freshman team. Centenary placed at least two players on the All-SCAC team for the fifth time after having a program record three earn all-conference honors last season.
Petreas, who was named to the All-SCAC second team last season, scored one goal this season and started all 17 games as a steady forced in the midfield for the Gents. He has started 43 games in his career and owns five goals (one game winner), an assist, and 11 points. He was named to the SCAC Championship All-Tournament Team last season and was also named the 2020-21 SCAC Men's Soccer Elite 19 award winner.
Allred turned in an impressive rookie season as he played in 14 games with 11 starts and scored one goal in the Gents' 6-1 domination of Dallas in their season finale. He also added an assist in the match to finish the season with three points.
The Gents finished the 2021 season at 6-11-1 and 2-6 in SCAC play and ended on a three-game winning streak. Centenary scored a season-high six goals in the win over Dallas and scored its most goals in a match since scoring four at home on March 13 of last season in a 4-2 win over Austin College.
The Gents finished the season by outscoring the opposition, 10-3 and the Maroon and White allowed one goal or less in a match 11 times this past season.
