Shreveport - The Centenary men's soccer team fell 7-0 to the Colorado College Tigers on Friday evening in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference match at Mayo Field.
The Gents (3-11-1, 0-6 SCAC) lost their 10th-consecutive match overall while the Tigers (10-2-1, 4-0-1) won their third in a row. Centenary honored six seniors prior to the match in its annual Senior Night ceremony. The Maroon and White, playing in their final home match of the season, finished 3-5 at Mayo Field this season but are still an impressive 13-9-1 on their home turf over the last three seasons.
The Tigers took a 2-0 lead at halftime and added five second-half goals to cruise to the victory. Colorado College scored three goals in a span of seven minutes early in the second half and six different Tigers scored and Kiran Singh scored a pair. Centenary senior GK Patrick Riley (Baton Rouge, La.) played the entire match and recorded seven saves.
Colorado College played a pair of keepers as Keleher Felton started and picked up the win, playing 60:38 and recording a save before being replaced by Brandon Burke for the final 29:22. The Tigers finished with a 21-4 advantage in shots.
The Gents and Tigers were meeting for the first time since the quarterfinals of the 2020 SCAC Championship at Mayo Field, a match which the Gents won 2-1 in thrilling fashion on their way to the conference championship on their home field this past April.
Centenary will play its final non-conference match of the regular season on Monday as the Gents face the East Texas Baptist University Tigers in a match set for 7:30 p.m. in Marshall, Texas.
