Colorado Springs, Colo. - The Centenary men's soccer team was blanked 3-0 by the Colorado College Tigers on Sunday in its Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference opener at Stewart Field.

The Gents (1-4-5, 0-1 SCAC) suffered their first loss since mid-September after earning four-consecutive ties prior to Sunday. The Tigers improved to 5-2-3 overall and 1-0-1 in conference play. Centenary was in action for the first time since recording a 2-2 road tie against the University of Texas at Dallas on Sept. 25.

The Tigers scored their first goal of the match in the 18th minute as Alex Meyerhoff found the net for the fourth time this season with the assist credited to Alexander Ward. That lead held until the 70th minute when Ward scored his second goal of the season with Oliver Ramirez recording the assist. Curtis Hale capped the scoring for the Tigers in the 80th minute, assisted by Oliver Ramirez.

Colorado College was credited with what was likely an extremely exaggerated number of shots (31) in the match compared to just five for Centenary. The Tigers took 10 corner kicks to the Gents' four and 21 fouls were called, 16 for the home team and five for the Gents. Gents' senior goalkeeper Sami Borchalli (Lafayette, La.) made a season-high nine saves in his 90 minutes played while Tigers' keeper Jasper Broad also went the distance and made two saves.

Centenary remains on the road for a pair of matches next weekend at Texas Lutheran (Oct. 7) and Southwestern (Oct. 9).
