The Gents (2-8-6, 1-5-1 SCAC) had their Senior Day spoiled by the Trinity University Tigers on Sunday as the visitors recorded an 11-0 victory in a conference contest at Mayo Field. The Celts (11-1-3, 4-1-2 SCAC) have won four in a row and are 7-0-1 at home this season.

Trinity raced out to a 6-0 lead at the half on Sunday and added five goals in the final 45 minutes to coast to the win. Despite the loss, senior goalkeeper Sami Borchalli (Lafayette, La.) made history as he broke two individual program records, as he became the all-time career leader in saves (409) in the division III era (2011-present) in program history with a single-game record 17 saves.

Borchalli, the D3-era leader in career shutouts with 14 and one of the program's most decorated and accomplished players, held the previous record of 16 saves, also against Trinity on Oct. 7, 2018. He currently ranks second in the conference in saves this season with 82.

Five seniors – Borchalli, MF David Barbera (Gonzales, La.), MF Xavier Noyola-Ramirez (College Station, Texas), D Marco Basteris (Katy, Texas), and MF Jaron Petreas (Denton, Texas) were honored in a pregame ceremony. Petreas, who was named the SCAC Male Student Athlete of the Week on Tuesday, is having one of the best offensive seasons of any player in the conference as he currently ranks in the top five in assists (tied for third – 5), fifth in points (19), and tied for fifth in goals (7) and is tied for eighth in shots with 29.

He is also one of the top players in Centenary history as his seven goals this season are the second-most in a single season in the division III era (2011-present) in program history and he ranks second all-time in goals scored (12), is tied for third in assists (6), second in points (30), and third in game-winning goals (3).
