Westminster led 3-0 entering the bottom of the fifth inning, escaping trouble nearly every inning as the Ladies collected six hits through their first four at-bats but left four on base and could not get on the board. They finally broke through, though, in the fifth as senior 2B Jaymee Wilkinson (Brazoria, Texas) knocked in Cox with a two-out RBI single. Cox reached on a bunt single and stole second before Wilkinson's clutch knock.

Centenary then tied the game with a pair of runs in the sixth on an RBI single by Akers and another RBI single by Stout. The Ladies had a chance to take the lead but Wilkinson and Junior SS Kaylea Patridge (Las Vegas, Nev.) each struck out looking with the bases loaded to end the inning. Scarbock, who had come in for the Ladies' starter, freshman Katelyn Moss (Olive Branch, Miss.) worked around a two-out double in the top of the seventh to keep the game tied. Lewis then led of the bottom half with a walk-off home run to left field to give the Ladies the 4-3 win.

Scarbock (1-2) picked up her first-career win as she went the final three innings and allowed just one earned run on five hits with a strike out and did not walk a batter. She threw 46 pitches, 35 for strikes, and faced 14 batters. Moss went the first four innings and yielded two runs, both earned, on eight hits with a walk and three strikeouts. She faced 19 batters and threw 60 pitches (42 strikes). Hailey Miller (0-1) went the distance for the Blue Jays and took the loss as she allowed four earned runs and 13 hits with three walks and three K's. Miller threw 104 pitches, 65 for strikes, and hit one of the 32 batters she faced.

Centenary drew one walk, only struck out four times, and left seven on base. Westminster took three walks, struck out three times, and left nine on. Neither team made an error and the Blue Jays grounded into one double play. Lewis, Dickey, Akers, and Dominguez each recorded multi-hit games and four Westminster players did the same, led by three each from CF Emily Esquivel and SS Laney Rosson.
