Centenary is back home for the first time since late March after two-consecutive weekends on the road. The Ladies dropped two of three games to Southwestern last weekend in Georgetown, Texas preceded by a sweep at Texas Lutheran in Seguin, Texas. The Ladies are 6-4 at home this season and have won their last five home games, a doubleheader sweep over Mississippi University for Women on March 19 and a three-game sweep over Dallas in SCAC play March 26-27. Schreiner swept Dallas at home last weekend and are 5-7 on the road this season.

The Ladies are one of the top hitting clubs in the conference with a team batting average of .297 but struggled in the series versus Southwestern last weekend as they scored just four runs in the three games on 11 hits. The teams split a DH as Southwestern took game one 1-0 and then Centenary responded with a 3-2 win in nine innings and then the Pirates won the rubber match the next day, 3-1.

Centenary's pitching was strong all weekend, though, as the Ladies allowed just six earned runs and tossed one complete game. Freshman Anna Scarbock (Alexandria, La.) threw her team-leading fourth complete game of the season on Saturday in game two of the doubleheader as she scattered eight hits and allowed just two runs, both earned, with no walks and five strikeouts. She threw 93 pitches, 64 strikes, and faced 35 batters.

Hunter suffered the loss for the Ladies on Sunday to fall to 3-2 on the season as she went 4.2 innings and allowed three runs, all earned, and nine hits with two walks and a strikeout. She faced 23 batters and threw 72 pitches, 48 for strikes. Freshman P Katelyn Moss (Olive Branch, Miss.) relieved her and went the final 1.1 innings and allowed two hits with one strikeout. Moss threw 17 pitches (10 strikes), faced six batters and hit one.

Moss currently ranks seventh in the conference in ERA (3.36) and is 4-3 this season with three complete games and a save.

Junior SS/LF Kaylea Patridge (Las Vegas, Nev.) and sophomore RF Mackenzie Cox (Alexandria, La.) currently rank fifth and seventh respectively in batting average in the conference as Patridge is hitting a team-best .382 and Cox is at .372. Freshman 3B Viviana Rivero (Redondo Beach, Calif.) is third on the team in batting average (.354) and senior C Erin Lewis (Leesville, La.) and junior CF Mallory Stout (Trinity, Texas) are both above .300 as Lewis is hitting .309 and Stout .301.

Cox is tied for ninth in the country in division III and second in the conference in stolen bases (26) and ranks fifth in the league in runs scored (24). She has only been caught stealing twice and has 32 hits (second on team) with 10 RBI, three doubles, and two triples. She has only struck out 12 times in 86 at-bats while drawing 10 walks.

Patridge is the team leader in hits with 34, has scored 18 runs, stolen seven bases, driven in nine, and has seven doubles and two triples. Rivero has 29 hits, 16 RBI, 14 runs scored, six doubles, and a home run. Lewis has slugged a team-leading three homers and has 25 hits, 16 RBI, 14 runs scored, and a team-high 10 doubles. Stout has 22 hits, 10 runs scored, 12 RBI, four doubles, and three stolen bases.

The Ladies were swept by Schreiner in the regular season but picked up a 2-1 victory in eight innings over the Mountaineers on their home field in the second round of the 2021 SCAC Championship which moved the Ladies into the championship round.
