Junior CF Mallory Stout (Trinity, Texas) then ripped an RBI triple to left-center to score Wilkinson for a 1-0 lead as she slid in just ahead of the tag by Schreiner 3B Marisa Hernandez to ignite joy in the Centenary dugout just a few feet away from her.

Sophomore RF Isabelle Dominguez (Newark, Calif.) grounded out for the first out by then freshman DP Alyssa Akers (Maurice, La.) delivered a sacrifice fly to score Stout for a 2-0 lead. The Mountaineers had runners at the corners with two outs in the sixth but Scarbrock got 1B Kennedy Moody to ground the ball to her and she tossed to Dominguez for the third out to keep Schreiner off the board.

Haley Pair pinch-hit for Elicia Gonzales with one out in the seventh and singled but was thrown out by junior LF Kaylea Patridge (Las Vegas, Nev.) as she threw a bullet to Wilkinson who applied the tag for the second out. Pinch hitter Taci Tatum then grounded back to Scarbrock who threw to Dominguez for the final out of the game.
