The teams will meet for the second time in a matter of 10 days after the Ladies (3-6, 1-0 SCAC) opened conference play with a 62-59 road win over the Crusaders in Irving on Dec. 8. The Crusaders enter Friday's game at 2-6 overall and 0-1 in SCAC play.

Centenary won its conference opener for the first time since the 2018-19 season and the Dec. 8 win over the Crusaders also marks the first time the Ladies have won at least three games in a season since the 2018-19 season when they won eight.

The Ladies enter Friday's play as one of the top defensive clubs in the conference as they rank second in field-goal percentage defense (.344) and fourth in both scoring defense (64.4 PPG) and three-point FG % defense (.234). Centenary has also been a solid rebounding team, ranking third in rebounding offense (41.3/game) and defensive rebounds (29.6/game) and are fourth in rebounding defense (43.0/game).

Centenary is led on offense by a trio of players ranked in the top 10 in scoring in the conference. Junior Destini Powell (Minden, La.) is currently fifth in the SCAC in scoring (12.7 PPG), sophomore guard Addy Tremie (Sulphur, La.) is eighth at 11.8 PPG, and junior F Jazzmyn Jones (Normangee, Texas) is ninth at 11.7.

Powell led the Ladies with 20 points in 27 minutes in the Dec. 8 game at Dallas. She was 8-17 from the floor and connected on 2-5 three-point attempts. She grabbed eight rebounds and had one steal. Powell has had a stellar month of December as she scored a career-high 33 points and grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds in a Dec. 4 win over Birmingham-Southern. The 33 points was the most scored by a Ladies player in a single game in the division III era (2012-present) and is tied for the third-most points in a single game in program history and is the most points scored by a Centenary player in 17 years. It is also the most scored by a SCAC women's player in a single game all season. Powell also ranks ninth in the SCAC in rebounding, averaging 7.1/game

Tremie is averaging 36.7 minutes/game and ranks seventh in the league in rebounding, averaging 7.2/game. Tremie, shooting 38 % from the floor overall this season, is one of just three players, Powell being one, in the conference currently ranked in the top 10 in both scoring and rebounding. She is also seventh in the league in three-point field goal percentage (.356) and is tied for fifth in three-point FGs made with 16. Jones is off to a great start in her junior season as she leads the team in field goal percentage (50.7 %) which is fourth-best in the league. Jones is also 11th in offensive rebounds, tied for 12th in steals and tied for 17th overall in rebounding.

Senior G Jennae Mayberry (Clovis, Calif.) is averaging 30.4 minutes per game, 5.5 rebounds per game and 3.6 PPG. She is tied for 12th in the league in assists and defensive rebounds. Freshman G Mary Leday (Opelousas, La.) is averaging 6.0 PPG in 25.3 minutes/game and ranks 12th in the league in assists. Fellow freshman G Alana Jones (Shreveport) scored 12 points in 21 minutes off the bench in the win at Dallas. She made 4-10 shots overall and went 4-6 from the free throw line. She also had six rebounds and one steal. Jones' 12 points are a season high and marked the first time she has reached double figures this season. Jones has also recorded at least five rebounds in five-straight games. She is also 15th in the SCAC in free throw % (.714).

The Ladies led 13-9 after the first quarter in the Dec. 8 game and then Dallas outscored Centenary 18-14 in the second 10 minutes as the game was tied at 27-27 at halftime. Dallas finished with a 21-19 advantage in the third quarter to take a 48-46 lead into the final period. The Ladies then outscored the Crusaders, 16-11, to win by three.

A layup gave the Crusaders a 54-52 lead with 2:21 remaining but 14 seconds later Powell tied the game with a basket. Another layup with just over a minute remaining gave Dallas a 56-54 lead but again Powell responded, this time with a clutch trey with just 51 second left for a 57-56 Ladies' lead. Several key free throws helped seal the win as Centenary's defense held Dallas scoreless over the final minute.

The Ladies will complete the home weekend with another conference game versus the Trinity University Tigers on Sunday at 3 p.m.
