The Ladies (3-15, 1-9 SCAC) led 33-32 at halftime and battled the whole way, but the Mountaineers (9-10, 6-4 SAC) thwarted numerous come back attempts by the Maroon and White to secure the road win. Centenary's losing streak reached nine while Schreiner improved to 3-7 on the road this season and rebounded from a loss at Austin College on Friday.

Junior G Destini Powell (Minden, La.) led the Ladies with a game-high 25 points on 7-14 shooting in 29 minutes and added 11 rebounds for her second-straight double-double and third of the season. Powell, who entered the game as the Ladies' top scorer on the season averaging 12.4 points per game, has now reached double figures 12 times this season and has done so in 11 of her last 13 games. The Ladies shot 38.3 % (23-60) for the game from the floor, 8-17 (47.1 %) from beyond the arc, and 14-18 (77.8 %) from the free throw line. Schreiner shot 41.1 % (30-73) overall from the floor, went 5-14 (35.7 %) from three-point range, and 13-19 (68.4 %) from the line. Centenary finished with an advantage (48-38) in rebounding and recorded 14 assists, eight blocked shots, and had six steals. Schreiner had 13 steals, 11 assists, and blocked a pair of shots. The Mountaineers only turned the ball over nine times and forced 23 Ladies' turnovers.

Schreiner made a living in the paint, finishing with a decisive 46-16 advantage and ended with a 26-3 edge in points off of turnovers. The Ladies ended with a slight edge (9-8) in second-chance points and the Mountaineers and Ladies each benefited from their benches, with Schreiner receiving 44 bench points to 32 for Centenary. Gabby Ivarra led four Schreiner players in double figures with 16 points and added 11 rebounds. Alyssa Viera, Nariyah Buggs, and Elisa Peralta each scored 11 and Aazayleah Pirtle added eight.

The Ladies made half (4-8) of their attempts from beyond the arc in the first quarter to finish with a 19-16 lead and then Schreiner heated up offensively in a back and forth second period as the Ladies finished with the one-point halftime lead. The Mountaineers, though, took control of the game after the break as they went on a 19-8 run to open up a double-digit lead and finished the quarter with a 21-10 advantage for a 53-43 lead headed to the final period. The teams finished even (25-25) in the fourth quarter, but the third-quarter advantage proved too much for the Ladies to overcome.

Centenary and Schreiner will face each other in a rematch on Friday, Feb. 4 in Kerrville, Texas with a contest set for 7:30 p.m. and will complete the weekend with another conference contest at Trinity in San Antonio on Feb. 5 at 4 p.m.
