San Antonio – The Centenary baseball team fell 13-2 in seven innings to the nationally-ranked Trinity University Tigers on Friday night in the opener of a three-game Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference weekend series at Trinity Baseball Field.
The series between the Diamond Gents (14-17, 10-12 SCAC) and No. 10 Tigers (24-7, 19-3 SCAC) concludes on Saturday with a doubleheader set for 1 p.m.

Centenary, fighting to get into next month's SCAC Tournament, is sixth in the conference standings and four games behind McMurry, who is in fourth. Trinity leads Concordia University by two games in the race for the regular season crown. The top four teams in the standings at the conclusion of the regular season will earn a berth in the 2025 SCAC Baseball Tournament held May 2-4 at Dell Diamond Park in Round Rock, Texas.
