Gents On Road This Weekend For Pair Of Matches

The Gents (5-4-1, 1-2 SCAC) aim to snap a two-game losing streak on Friday while the Roos (3-7-2, 1-1-1 SCAC) are coming off of a scoreless tie at Texas Lutheran University on Sunday. The last meeting between Gents and 'Roos ended in a 2-2 tie in Sherman last season. The all-time series is tied at 12-12-2 and Centenary is 3-2-1 over the last six meetings.
Centenary was blanked 2-0 by the Colorado College Tigers on Sunday on the road and had a quick turnaround after falling 2-1 at home on Oct. 4 to the University of St. Thomas. The Gents and Tigers battled to a scoreless tie at halftime and it remained that way until the Tigers' Wyatt Linggi scored in the 55th minute for a 1-0 lead and the Tigers added a second goal later in the half.
Centenary freshman GK Sebastian Lutin (Fort Worth, Texas) made a season-high 16 saves in his 90 minutes in the net, finishing one save shy of the division III era (2011-present) single-match record of 17. Lutin, named the SCAC Men's Soccer Co-Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 1, leads the conference in saves (56) and made 10 saves on Oct. 4 against St. Thomas. Lutin is tied for 32nd in the country in saves and is 32nd in saves per game at 6.22. Lutin's 16 saves are the most in a match by a SCAC player all season.
The Gents enter Friday's action as one of the top offensive teams in the conference as they rank in the top five in assists, goals, points, and shots and have outscored their opponents 22-9. Centenary has tallied 19 assists and ten different players Gents have recorded at least one assist this season while 10 have scored at least one goal. Seven Gents have scored two or more goals led by four from freshman F Nathan Uduojie (Houston, Texas) who also has two assists for a team-high 10 points and is tied for eighth in the conference in goals.
Senior MF Hunter Booth (Harrodsburg, Ky.), freshman MF Kevin Huskey Jr. (Dallas, Texas), and senior F Ron Masti (Houston, Texas) have each scored three goals and senior F Gabriel Aragon (Forney, Texas), freshman MF Emiliano Mondragon (Dallas, Texas), and sophomore F Carter Webb (Flower Mound, Texas) have each scored two. Mondragon is tied for the conference lead in assists with five and freshman MF Hayden Hughes (Dallas, Texas) is tied for eighth with three.
The Gents, 3-3 in road/neutral contests this season, will wrap up the weekend on Sunday against the University of Dallas Crusaders in at Noon in Irving, Texas. Centenary defeated Dallas 3-1 in Irving last season. The Crusaders (1-8, 0-3 SCAC) will face the University of the Ozarks at home on Friday.

Senior F Louis Catchpole is Austin College's leading scorer with six goals which is tied for third in the conference. He forms a dynamic duo with teammate Pierce Wear who is right behind him with five goals. The two have combined for 11 goals, four assists, and 26 points this season.
Five 'Roos have scored at least two goals this season and Austin College has 24 goals as a team.
GK Jayson Baldwin has started all 12 matches and has made 31 saves and recorded one shutout.
Catchpole and Uduojie are the only two players in the conference this season to record a hat trick (score three goals in a game) as their three goals each are the most scored by a player in a match this season … And, these performances occurred two days apart from each other on the same field and against the same opponent. Uduojie found the net three times against the Mississippi University for Women (MUW) Owls at home on Sept. 13 and two days later, Catchpole scored three times against the Owls in a neutral-site match held at Atkins Field on the Centenary campus in Shreveport.
Centenary assistant coach Tommy Haney played for Austin College for four years (2005-08) and served as team captain his senior season.
