Gents Finish Regular Season On Road This Weekend

The Gents (7-8-1, 3-6-0 SCAC) are coming off of a tough 1-0 loss to the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs in league play last Sunday as the Gents celebrated their 2024 senior class at Atkins Field. Schreiner (3-11-1, 2-6-1 SCAC) is 2-3-1 at home this season. The Mountaineers were blanked in a pair of road matches last weekend, 5-0 at Colorado College and 2-0 at the University of St. Thomas. The Gents are 2-3 on the road this season. Schreiner leads the all-time series 11-5-2 and Centenary seeks its first win in the series since a 1-0 victory on April 10, 2021 at home.
Centenary, which also lost a hard-fought 1-0 match to Southwestern University on Friday, battled the Bulldogs step for step in a scoreless contest until TLU scored in the 69th minute. In last Friday's loss against the Pirates, the teams battled to a scoreless draw at halftime and for the first 15+ minutes of the second half until Southwestern scored in the 64th minute.
The Gents are one of the conference's top overall offensive clubs as they rank in fifth in the league in four team categories – assists, goals, points, and shots and have outscored their opponents 31-20. Centenary has tallied 28 assists and 13 players have recorded at least one assist this season while 12 have scored at least one goal.

Mondragon is tied for fourth in the conference in assists and has also scored three goals (tied for third on team) for a total of 12 points (second on team). Uduojie is tied for seventh in the league in goals and tied for eighth in points. He also has tallied four assists (tied for second on team) and has a pair of game-winning goals.
Lutin is the conference leader in saves and ranks eighth in goals against average (GAA) at 1.33. The rookie has made 15 starts, owns one shutout, and made a season-high 16 saves at Colorado College on Oct. 6, finishing one save shy of the division III era (2011-present) single-match record of 17 and his 16 saves are the most in a match by a SCAC player all season.
Lutin, named the SCAC Men's Soccer Co-Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 1, is tied for 23rd in the country in saves, is tied for 30th in saves per game at 6.00, and is tied for 44th in save percentage at .818.

The Gents are in a tie for eighth place in the conference standings with the University of the Ozarks. Schreiner is 10th and Trinity is tied for first with Colorado College.
The 2024 SCAC Men's Soccer Tournament will be return to SaberCats Stadium in Houston, Texas - marking the second consecutive year the venue will serve as host of the league's postseason championship event. Semifinal matches are scheduled for Friday, Nov. 8 will the championship match contested on Sunday, Nov. 10. The top four teams in the SCAC standings at the conclusion of the regular season will make the tournament.
