Monroe, La. – The Centenary women's basketball team will face The University of Louisiana at Monroe (ULM) Warhawks on Tuesday in an exhibition contest set for 11:30 a.m. at Fant-Ewing Coliseum.

The Ladies (0-3 and Warhawks (1-1) are meeting in an exhibition for the second-consecutive season after the Maroon and White fell to ULM 70-36 last November in Monroe.

Centenary dropped a 68-53 decision to the host East Texas Baptist University Tigers on Saturday in its final game of the ETBU Classic in Marshall, Texas. The Ladies trailed 28-20 at halftime and 47-31 after three quarters, but did not go away without a fight as they outscored the Tigers 22-21 in the fourth quarter. Centenary shot 29 % (20-69) overall from the field, 63.2 % (12-19) from the free throw line, but struggled from beyond the arc, going just 1-14.

ULM fell 68-53 at home to Louisiana Tech on Sunday following a blowout win over Louisiana Christian University (88-58) on Nov. 7 at home. The Warhawks also defeated Millsaps 83-47 in a home exhibition on Nov. 1.

The Ladies fell in overtime on Friday to the LeTourneau University YellowJackets, 67-60, and came up short in their season opener on Nov. 8 at Louisiana Christian by a score of 63-50.

Freshman G Amiyah Barrow (Baton Rouge, La.) led the Ladies with a season-high 11 points in the loss against ETBU on Saturday. Three Ladies scored eight or more points as freshman G TaNyjah Plumber (Kinder, La.) started and scored nine and senior F Jazzmyn Jones (Normangee, Texas) and senior F Amelia Bagwell (West Monroe, La.) each scored eight.

Freshman F Kyra Stokes (Shreveport, La.) and freshman G Olivia Sepulvado (Zwolle, La.) each chipped in five points. Freshman G Madison Davis (Shreveport, La.) scored three and the Ladies got two points from freshman G Lauren Castillo (Keller, Texas) and freshman G Brailey Major (Opelousas, La.).

Jones pulled down nine rebounds to lead the Ladies and added a game-high six steals while Bagwell finished with six boards. Plumber had five and Barrow was next with four and had two assists and two steals.

The Ladies totaled 10 steals, five assists, and blocked one shot. The Ladies turned the ball over 12 times while the Tigers gave it away 15 times. ETBU received 35 points from its bench while Centenary got 23. The Tigers finished with a slight advantage (20-16) in points in the paint, scored 19 points off turnovers compared to 13 for the Ladies, had a 7-0 advantage in fast break points, and had 11 second-chance points while the Ladies had nine.  

Alana Jones currently leads the Ladies in scoring this season at 13.0 PPG while Jazzmyn Jones is second at 10.7 PPG. Drumgo and Peacock are each averaging 8.0 PPG, Barrow (6.3), Plumber (5.0), Bagwell (4.7), and Davis (4.3) are all averaging between 4.0-6.0 PPG. Sepulvado (3.3), Stokes (3.0), Castillo (2.7), and Major (1.3) are each averaging between 1.0-3.3 PPG. Jazzmyn Jones (6.3) and Alana Jones (6.0) are the Ladies' top two rebounders through two games.

Centenary has been very aggressive and active through three games as the Maroon and White have recorded 40+ rebounds twice – 44 against LeTourneau and 42 versus ETBU and have tallied 10 or more steals in very game and 15 versus both Louisiana Christian and LeTourneau.

The Ladies will face Wiley College in their home opener on Thursday at 5:30 p.m. and then remain at home on Friday to play Hendrix College at 6 p.m.
