Shreveport – The Centenary women's basketball team returns to action for the first time in nearly two weeks on Friday as the Ladies are set to face the University of Dallas Crusaders in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest at 4 p.m. at the Gold Dome.

The Ladies (0-13, 0-4 SCAC) fell 64-50 at Texas Lutheran on Dec. 17 in their most recent action. Centenary was only down six points with just over four minutes remaining in the game but TLU went on an 11-3 run to end the game and seal the win.

Dallas (5-5, 1-2 SCAC) enters Friday's game on a two-game winning streak after claiming a pair of non-conference victories at home, 64-57 versus Hendrix on Dec. 20 and 60-52 against Occidental College on Dec. 21. The Ladies and Crusaders split the season series last season, with the Maroon and White winning 62-59 in Irving and the Crusaders winning in Shreveport, 60-43.

Sophomore G Alana Jones (Shreveport, La.) is the Ladies' leading rebounder (9.9/game) and tied with sophomore G Dymon Drumgo (Alexandria, La.) for second on the team in scoring with 8.8 PPG. Jones currently ranks second in the conference in rebounding and has five double-digit efforts this season. Freshman G Amiyah Barrow (Baton Rouge, La.) is right behind them at 8.5 PPG, freshman F Kyra Stokes (Shreveport, La.) and senior F Amelia Bagwell (West Monroe, La.) each average 6.6 PPG and freshman G Brailey Major (Opelousas, La.) averages 6.2 PPG. Barrow and Jones are both ranked in the top 25 in the SCAC in scoring and each rank in the top 10 in the league in free throw shooting with Barrow third at 78.0 % and Jones sixth (70.6 %).

Jones, one of the top all-around players in the conference this season, has reached double digits in scoring five times, also done so in rebounding on five occasions, and has a pair of double-doubles. Her single-game season high in points is 13 done three times and she grabbed a season-best 21 rebounds on Nov. 27 against Birmingham-Southern. She also ranks ninth in the conference in assists, averaging 2.5 per game, ninth in blocked shots and eighth in steals (2.2/game). She leads the conference in defensive rebounds per game, is fifth in offensive rebounds, and has played the second-most minutes of any player in the conference.

Stokes scored a season-high 16 points and grabbed a season-best 12 rebounds for her first-career double-double in just her fifth game of the season against TLU. Stokes, who scored eight points the day before against Southwestern in her first action in over a month, played 34 minutes and was 7-12 from the floor with two steals, an assist, and a blocked shot.

Drumgo has scored in double figures four times, done so in two of her last three games, and scored 12 or more points three times. Barrow has five double-figure scoring games and done so in four of her last seven games highlighted by a season-high 19 at Millsaps on Nov. 26. She is also the Ladies' top shooter this and ranks 11th in the conference at 41.5 %. Bagwell has a pair of double-doubles, one of which included a career-high 33 points against Birmingham-Southern, which is tied for the third-most in a single game in program history. She is also tied for 16th in the conference in rebounding at 5.0/game and is 11th in offensive rebounds per game. Major has reached double figures twice and has one double-double. She scored a season-best 27 points against Birmingham-Southern.

Freshman G Madison Davis (Shreveport, La.) has reached double digits twice this season and has scored seven or more points in game five times, freshman G TaNyjah Plumber (Kinder, La.) scored a season-high 20 points against Wiley on Nov. 17 and averages 4.3 PPG and 2.4 rebounds/game. Freshman G Jillian Peacock (West Monroe, La.) is averaging 4.3 PPG and 3.7 rebounds/game and freshman G Olivia Sepulvado (Zwolle, La.) has reached double figures twice and scored a season-high 16 against Schreiner on Dec. 4.

The Ladies complete their weekend and close the calendar year on Saturday, Dec. 31 versus Austin College at 1 PM.
