Kingsland, Texas – The Centenary women's golf team finished 11th in The Legends Cup after shooting a 169-over par 745 as the Ladies completed their fall season at Legends Golf Club.
The Ladies, playing their second tournament of the fall season after finishing ninth in the Lady Bulldog Classic hosted by Texas Lutheran University last month, were in 10th place after Monday's first round following a 73-over par 361. The Maroon and White shot a 96-over 384 on Tuesday.
The 11-team field was tested the last two days at the par 72, 5,727-yard course and the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor served as the host of the tournament and won the team title after the Cru shot a 22-over par 598 to finish 27 shots ahead of second-place Hardin-Simmons University (49-over 625).
Freshman Mya Thompson (South Jordan, Utah) led the way for the Ladies as she finished 46th after shooting a 32-over par 176. She was tied for 35th after Monday's action following a season-best 12-over par 84. She shot a 20-over par 92 on Tuesday. She has earned top-50 finishes in both tournaments so far this season. Freshman Hailey Adams (Hamburg, Ark.) shot rounds of 91-90 – 181 (+37) to finish 52nd, freshman Jordyn Templeton (Columbus, Texas) finished 54th after shooting a 42-over par 186 (90-96), and sophomore Kaylee Roberts (Watonga, Okla.) shot a 58-over par 202 after rounds of 96-106 to finish in 59th place.
UMHB's Izzy Crow claimed the individual title after shooting a 2-over par 146 to edge a pair of golfers by one shot. The two tied one shot behind Crow were Shay West of Hardin-Simmons and Crow's teammate, Sarah Kmiecik. Alyssa Yee of UC Santa Cruz, the leader after Monday's first round, shot a 9-over 81 on Tuesday and finished seventh.
UC Santa Cruz finished third (52-over par 628), Our Lady of the Lake University placed fourth at 64-over par 640, Schreiner University finished fifth (72-over par 648), the University of Dallas finished sixth (81-over par 657), Millsaps College placed seventh (95-over par 671), East Texas Baptist University finished eighth (98-over par 674), Texas Lutheran University finished ninth (108-over par 684), and McMurry University finished 10th at 166-over par 742
