St. Simons Island, Ga. - The Centenary women's golf team opens its spring season on Monday in the Coastal Georgia Women's Winter Invite at the King and Prince Golf Resort.

The tournament, held on Monday and Tuesday, will consist of 36 total holes with play beginning at 8 a.m. each day. College of Coastal Georgia is an NAIA school located in Brunswick, Ga. and a member of the Sun Conference. The Mariners will field both an "A" and "B" team this week and will be joined by Ave Maria, Blue Mountain College, Georgetown College, Spartanburg Methodist, Newberry, SCAD-Atlanta, Southeastern, Georgia Military College, and St. Thomas.

The Ladies are back in action for the first time since finishing 11th in The Legends Cup on Oct. 3 in Kingsland, Texas after shooting a 169-over par 745. Freshman Mya Thompson (South Jordan, Utah) led the way for the Ladies as she finished 46th after shooting a 32-over par 176. She shot a season-best 12-over par 84 in round one and has earned top-50 finishes in both tournaments so far this season.

Freshman Hailey Adams (Hamburg, Ark.) shot rounds of 91-90 – 181 (+37) to finish 52nd, freshman Jordyn Templeton (Columbus, Texas) finished 54th after shooting a 42-over par 186 (90-96), and sophomore Kaylee Roberts (Watonga, Okla.) shot a 58-over par 202 after rounds of 96-106 to finish in 59th place.
