Shreveport – The Centenary lacrosse team fell 20-7 to the Hendrix College Warriors on Wednesday evening in a non-conference contest at Mayo Field.

The Gents (1-5) are back at home on Saturday to face the Point University Skyhawks at Noon. The Gents will honor their 2024 senior class following Saturday's game.

The Warriors (4-2) scored first as Klaus Rowan found the net for an unassisted goal at the 11:09 mark of the first quarter and the teams battled for the next 11 minutes without any scoring as the visitors held a 1-0 lead after the first period.

Rowan scored two more goals early in the second period to give the Warriors a 3-0 lead and then senior A/MF Mark Temple (Houston, Texas) got the Gents on the board at the 6:52 mark of the second quarter with the assist credited to sophomore A G'Colby Spivey (Dallas, Texas). Hendrix then scored the games' next four goals to take a 7-1 lead at halftime.

The Gents scored two early goals at the beginning of the second half as Spivey and Temple scored unassisted goals to make it 7-3. Hendrix then scored three goals in a span of just two minutes to make it 10-3. Senior M Jordan Cook (Bryant, Ark.) scored an unassisted goal to make it 10-4 and the Warriors scored two more in the final five minutes to lead 12-4 after three quarters of play. Spivey, Temple, and Cook each scored a goal in the fourth quarter but the Warriors scored eight more to pull away for the 20-7 win.

Hendrix finished with 71 shots and Centenary tallied 35, the Warriors finished with a 46-17 edge in ground balls, and the Gents turned the ball over 26 times to 20 for the Warriors. Hendrix won 27 of the 31 face offs and was 46-39 on clears while Centenary finished 24034 on clears and won four face offs.

Junior Dylan Miller (Shreveport, La.) started in goal for the Gents and set a program single-game record with 30 saves. Hendrix played a pair of goalies as Ian Domeika started and made eight saves while allowing four goals. Kellan Harger relieved him in the four quarter and allowed three goals and made a pair of saves.

Temple scored a team-high three goals for the Gents and Cook and Spivey each had two. Rowan led the Warriors with a game-high seven goals and three Warriors – Maximus LaMendola, Austin Williams, and Bennett Davidson, each scored three.
