Lacrosse Loses At Carroll University On Wednesday

Waukesha, Wisc.  The Centenary lacrosse team lost 20-5 to the Carroll University Pioneers on Wednesday evening at Schneider Stadium.

The Gents (1-10) have lost six games in a row and are 0-4 on their five-game road trip that will end on Saturday against the Beloit College Buccaneers in Beloit, Wisc. The Pioneers evened their record at 5-5 with the win and are 2-1 at home this season.

Centenary led early, 2-0, after goals by sophomore MF Seven Davillier (Shreveport, La.) and sophomore A G'Colby Spivey (Dallas, Texas). Senior A/MF Mark Temple (Houston, Texas) assisted on Davillier's goal and senior M Jordan Cook (Bryant, Ark.) tallied an assist on Spivey's score.

Carroll scored five-straight goals after trailing early to take a 5-2 lead, but Spivey scored again late in the period, assisted by Cook, and then Cook scored an unassisted goal to make it a 5-4 game after a quarter.

The Pioneers then took control of the game as they scored 15-straight goals to lead 20-4 and Cook's unassisted goal with 4:03 left in the game was the Gents' final score and first since he scored with 54 seconds remaining in the first period.

Junior Dylan Miller (Shreveport, La.) played all 60 minutes in goal for the Gents and made 16 saves. The Pioneers played a pair of goalies as Jake Gehl started and went the first 55:57 as he made six saves. He then gave way to Turner Postulka who played the final 4:03 and made one save.

Carroll out-shot Centenary 68-27, had 45 ground balls to the Gents' 30, and went 25-26 on clears while the Maroon and White finished 15-22. Centenary turned the ball over 25 times and Carroll gave it away 13 times. The Pioneers won 16 of 28 face offs and Centenary won 12 of 28.

Luke Bridges and Brady Mollesen each scored five goals to lead the Pioneers, Zachary Szuba scored three, and Josh Kovach and Ethan Phillips each scored two. Bridges led the way in assists with two.
