Shreveport– The Centenary men's soccer team is back on its home field for a pair of non-conference contests this weekend, beginning with a matchup on Friday evening versus the Mississippi University for Women Owls set for 8 p.m. at Mayo Field.

The Gents (0-1-1) and Owls (0-2) will meet for the first time in history on Friday. The Huntingdon College Hawks (1-1) and Sul Ross State University (0-1) will join the Gents and Owls this weekend as four matches will be played among the teams. Centenary completes the weekend with a match against Huntingdon on Sunday at 2 p.m. Sul Ross and Huntingdon face each other on Saturday at Noon and MUW and Sul Ross play on Sunday at Noon.
Centenary received a late goal from junior F Ron Masti (Houston, Texas) to earn a 1-1 tie with the McMurry University War Hawks on Sunday afternoon in its home opener at Mayo Field. The McMurry defense held the Gents scoreless until Masti found the net off an assist from freshman D Hayden McConnell (Flower Mound, Texas) in the 81st minute. The goal is Masti's first this season and seventh of his career.
Centenary played a pair of goalies on Sunday as junior Sam Brocato (Leesville, La.) started and played the first half. He allowed the War Hawks' goal and made five saves. Junior Casey Clemo (Forney, Texas) played the second half and made a pair of saves.
The Gents are 1-1 all-time against Huntingdon and have faced Sul Ross once, finishing in a scoreless tie against the Lobos last season.
The Centenary women's soccer team will face the University of Texas at Dallas Comets on Friday at 6 p.m. prior to the Gents' match at 8 p.m. The complete schedule of all games for the weekend is below:
