Shreveport – The Centenary men's soccer team fell 5-0 to the Colorado College Tigers on Friday evening in the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference opener for both teams at Mayo Field.

The Gents (3-4-2, 0-1 SCAC) were back in action for the first time since a 3-2 comeback victory over the Howard Payne University Yellow Jackets in a non-conference contest last Saturday at home. The Tigers (6-2-1, 1-0 SCAC) took a 3-0 lead at halftime and added a pair of goals in the second half to cruise to the win. Centenary fell for the first time at home this season (3-1-1).

The Tigers' aggressive and efficient offense finished with a decisive 29-7 edge in shots and took nine corner kicks to the Gents' four. Centenary was whistled for 16 fouls and Colorado College picked up eight.

Oliver Ramirez scored an unassisted goal just nine minutes into the match for a 1-0 lead and then Connor Webster made it 2-0 in the 26^th minute off an assist from Alexander Ward. Three minutes later, Dylan Rich scored the Tigers' third goal with Ward on the assist again. Zeke Lubin scored an unassisted goal in the 72^nd minute and Wyatt Linhhi's goal was the fifth and final score of the night with Remi Maher getting the assist.

Each team played a pair of goalkeepers as junior Sam Brocato (Leesville, La.) started for the Maroon and White and played 79:25 and made four saves, allowing all five goals. Freshman Isaac Lilly (New Orleans, La.) made his collegiate debut and went the final 10:35.

Jasper Broad started for the Tigers and went the first 71:53 and made one save, picking up the victory. Spencer Besselaar relieved him and played the final 18:07 and made two saves.

Centenary is off for a week and will return to action next Friday night as the Gents will face Texas Lutheran University in another SCAC contest at 7 p.m.
