The Ladies (1-11, 0-4 SCAC) will finish the weekend with another league contest against on Sunday against Southwestern University at 2 p.m. Texas Lutheran enters Friday's action at 11-3 overall and 4-1 in SCAC play and have won three games in a row.
Centenary hung tough with the Colorado College Tigers in a close first-half battle before falling short to the visiting Tigers by a score of 72-46 on Sunday at home in its last appearance. Centenary was back in action for the first time since an 88-67 loss at Louisiana Christian on Dec. 19 in Pineville.
Sophomore G Amiyah Barrow (Baton Rouge, La.) led the Ladies in scoring versus Colorado College with 18 points and she was joined in double figures by sophomore G TaNyjah Plumber (Kinder, La.) who scored 10. Barrow, the fifth-leading scorer in the conference, played all 40 minutes for the fifth time this season and was 5-9 from the floor and 8-10 from the FT line with five rebounds, four steals and two assists. She has reached double figures 10 times this season and done so eight-straight times. She is also tied for eighth in the league in assists, averaging 2.6/game.
Plumber is second on the team in scoring (9.3 PPG) and sophomore F Kyra Stokes (Shreveport, La.) and sophomore F Layla Powell (Fort Worth, Texas) are tied for third at 7.0 PPG. Freshman G Mallory Dougharty (Evadale, Texas) added eight points in 29 minutes off the bench against Colorado College as she was 3-6 from the floor, 1-4 from beyond the arc, and 1-1 at the FT line with three rebounds and a pair of assists. She is averaging 4.7 PPG this season.
The Bulldogs, 3-1 on the road this season, average 69.3 PPG and shoot 39.4 % from the floor. TLU shoots 67.1 % from the free throw line, 29.4 % from beyond the arc, and averages 41.9 rebounds per game and 18.1 assists/game. Junior G Kailey Mulkey is the Bulldogs' leading scorer (11.3/game) and sophomore G Lauren Sansano (10.8/game) is second. Mulkey and sophomore F Brianna Wilson share the team lead in rebounding (6.4/game).
