The Ladies (1-17, 0-10 SCAC) aim to snap a 13-game losing streak and win for the first time at home this season as the Maroon and White are 0-7 so far at the Gold Dome. Centenary is returning to action for the first time since falling 78-47 to the University of Dallas Crusaders at home on Jan. 20.
The Celts (5-14, 3-7 SCAC) are 1-6 om the road this season and lost at home on Sunday to Austin College. St. Thomas aims to sweep the season series after recording a 75-48 over the Ladies last month in Houston.
The Ladies feature two of the conference's top scorers entering Tuesday's action as sophomore G Amiyah Barrow (Baton Rouge, La.) ranks sixth (11.9 PPG) and sophomore G TaNyjah Plumber (Kinder, La.) is eighth at 11.1 PPG. Sophomore F Kyra Stokes (Shreveport, La.) is tied for fifth in the league in rebounding (6.1/game) and Barrow is fourth in assists, dishing out 3.1/game.
Plumber scored a team-leading 19 points in the loss to Dallas last Saturday, reaching double figures for the eighth-straight game and 11th time this season. Plumber is averaging 14 PPG during the last eight games as has hit two or more treys four times in that span. Barrow has scored in double figures 12 times this season and shoots a team-best 44.3 % from the floor. Stokes has scored in double figures six times this season and averages 8.0 PPG.
Sophomore F Layla Powell (Fort Worth, Texas) averages 7.6 PPG, 2.5 rebounds/game along with 1.0 steals/game and 0.9 assists/game. Powell has reached double figures four times. Senior F Amelia Bagwell (West Monroe, La.) is averaging 6.1 PPG and 3.4 rebounds/game, sophomore G Madison Davis (Shreveport, La.) averages 3.1 PPG and 1.4 rebounds/game, freshman G Mallory Dougharty (Evadale, Texas) averages 4.9 PPG and 2.8 rebounds/game.
Centenary is the third-best free-throw shooting team in the conference at 69.4 % as two players shoot 76 % or better – Dougharty (76.7 %) and Powell (76.1 %). The Ladies average 53.3 PPG, shoot 30.0 % from the floor, and 26.5 % from beyond the arc while averaging 34.1 rebounds/game and 7.7 assists/game.
The Celts average 52.8 PPG, shoot 23.0 % from the floor, 26.1 % from 3-point range, and 64.1 % from the FT line and average 35.7 rebounds/game and 9.1 assists/game. Junior G Ravyn Ellis (9.8 PPG) is UST's leading scorer and sophomore G Audrey Hernandez and junior G Nia McGee share the team lead in rebounding (4.9/game).
