Shreveport - The Centenary women's basketball team fell 64-52 to the Millsaps College Majors in a non-conference contest on Friday evening in the Gold Dome.
The Ladies (1-8) were playing their final game of the calendar year against the Majors (9-1) as they met for the second time this season after Millsaps defeated Centenary 81-59 in the Belhaven Hoops Classic on Nov. 23. Centenary lost its seventh game in a row and is 0-4 at home this season. Millsaps extended its winning streak to eight and is 4-0 on the road this season.
Junior F Layla Powell (Fort Worth, Texas) scored a team-high 13 points and freshman F Shyanne Phillips (Leesville, La.) was right behind her with 12 and grabbed a game-high 13 rebounds for her third double-double this season.
Looking Ahead:
The Ladies will play eight games in January, four at home and four on the road, and all are Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contests.
