The Ladies (2-16, 1-9 SCAC) aim to snap a seven-game losing streak after going winless on the road in conference play the last two weekends. The Tornados (9-9, 4-5 SCAC) defeated McMurry University at home on Monday by a score of 78-65 and are 4-6 on the road this season. The Ladies and Tornados are meeting for just the second time as their only previous meeting came on Nov. 28, 2011 in Austin, Texas, a game that Concordia won 94-79.
The Ladies are averaging 55.6 PPG, shooting 32.7 % from the floor, 17.7 % from beyond the arc, 68.2 % from the free-throw line, and average 38.1 rebounds/game.

Scoring: Freshman F Shyanne Phillips (Leesville, La.) – 14.1 PPG

Phillips continued her impressive rookie season over the weekend by averaging 20.5 PPG in the Ladies' two games at Schreiner and Trinity. Against the Tigers on Saturday, she led all scorers with 24 points and grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds for her eighth double-double and scored in double figures for the ninth time. Phillips, tied for second in the conference in rebounding and ranks 19th nationally in division III, is also 10th in the league in scoring. She has reached double figures in six of her last eight games and had a double-double in each game last weekend after posting 17 points and 16 rebounds against Schreiner on Friday. For the weekend she totaled 26 rebounds, two assists, two blocked shots, and a steal, and finished 11-15 at the FT line. Phillips is also tied for 15th in the league in blocked shots, 10th in FG %, and fifth in FT %. Her eight double-doubles are ranked in the top 50 nationally and she is tied for 69th in the country in FT %.
Rivera, the conference leader in steals and tied for 41st nationally in the category, is second on the team in scoring (11.1 PPG) and averages 4.3 rebounds/game along with being the team leader in both assists per game and steals/game. She led all scorers on Friday against Schreiner with a game-high 21 points as she finished 6-12 from the floor and 9-10 at the FT line in 32 minutes. The rookie just missed matching her season high of 22 points which she scored earlier in the season against Southwestern as she scored 20+ points for the third time this season. She added a season-high tying six steals and three rebounds as she reached double figures for the ninth time this season. She then had six points in 32 minutes against Trinity last Saturday on 3-8 shooting with a season-high tying six steals, five assists, and two rebounds.
Junior F Layla Powell (Fort Worth, Texas) averages 7.7 PPG, has reached double figures seven times and shoots a strong 73.8 % from the free-throw line. Freshman F Anaya Yunusah (New Orleans, La.) averages 5.6 PPG and 3.7 rebounds/game and has five double-digit scoring games this season. Junior G Amiyah Barrow (Baton Rouge, La.) is averaging 5.5 PPG and has reached double digits four times.

Destiny Mathews (23.1 PPG) is the conference's second-leading scorer and ranks seventh nationally in division III and has reached double figures in all 16 of her games this season and also ranks fourth in the league in rebounding (8.9/game).
The Tornados, in their first season in the league, were picked to finish 10th in the preseason coaches' poll.
Centenary closes out the weekend on Sunday against McMurry University at Noon.
