Ladies On Road This Weekend For SCAC Series At Austin College
The Centenary softball team will face the Austin College ‘Roos in a three-game Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference series this weekend at Old Settlers Park.
Sherman, Texas - The Centenary softball team will face the Austin College 'Roos in a three-game Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference series this weekend at Old Settlers Park.
The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday at Noon and 2 p.m. and a single game on Sunday at Noon.

The Ladies (4-7, 0-3 SCAC) were swept by Trinity at home last weekend in their first conference series of the season. Centenary fell 7-5 in the first game and then dropped a pair of six-inning games the next day, 12-3 and 9-1.
Austin College (3-10) will begin league play this weekend. The 'Roos were swept by McMurry in a road non-conference doubleheader on Wednesday. Centenary won both games between the teams last season in Shreveport, 7-1 and 3-0, with the third game being cancelled. Centenary is an impressive 18-8 all-time versus Austin College and have won eight straight versus the 'Roos.
Centenary enters Friday's play as the top hitting club in the conference with a team batting average of .349. The Ladies rank fourth in the league in ERA (4.28) while the 'Roos are at the bottom of both categories. The Ladies have recorded double-digit hits in a game six times this season and are averaging 4.8 runs per game with an on-base percentage of .414 and are slugging .470 as a team. The Ladies have collected 27 extra base hits (20 doubles, four home runs, and three triples) and have stolen 18 bases while only being caught once.
Sophomore OF Mackenzie Cox (Alexandria, La.) is the team leader in batting average (.459), OBP (.535) and slugging (.568) and ranks third in the conference in batting average, third in hits (17) and is tied for second in runs scored (11), and is 12-13 in stolen bases. Junior IF/OF Kaylea Patridge (Las Vegas, Nev.) is seventh in the SCAC in batting average (.390), third in hits with 16, and tied for the league lead in triples with two. Patridge boasts a .405 OBP and is slugging .512. She has stolen two bases and five RBI with six runs scored. Junior CF Mallory Stout (Trinity, Texas) is fifth in the conference with a .419 batting average with 13 hits, five RBI, and seven runs scored. She has two stolen bases, three doubles, a .500 OBP and slugging percentage of .516.
Senior C Erin Lewis (Leesville, La.) is sixth in the league with an even .400 batting average and is second in home runs (3), third in doubles (5), and tied for second in total bases (28). Freshman 1B Kaitlyn Dickey (Church Point, La.) is currently eighth in the league in hitting (.387) and has a home run, six RBI, 12 total hits, a .412 OBP and is slugging .516.
Freshman 3B Viviana Rivero (Redondo Beach, Calif.) is ninth in batting average in the conference (.375) with an OBP of .390 and a .475 slugging percentage. Rivero has 15 hits, four doubles, and seven RBI. Sophomore IF/OF Isabelle Dominguez (Newark, Calif.) is batting .308 on the season (.379 OBP/.423 slugging) with eight hits, three RBI, three runs scored, and three doubles.
Freshman Alyssa Akers (Maurice, La.) is batting .280 overall (.379 OBP/.280 slugging) with seven hits, two runs scored, and two RBI. Senior 2B Jaymee Wilkinson (Brazoria, Texas) has five hits, three runs scored, a double, and three RBI. Freshman Maggie Jenkins (La Mesa, Calif.) and fellow rookie Brooke Sandefur (Baton Rouge, La.) have combined to play in 11 games and have scored six runs, collected three hits, drive in a pair, and stolen a base.
Freshman P Katelyn Moss (Olive Branch, Miss.) is currently eighth in the conference and leads the team in ERA (3.89) and leads the Ladies in strikeouts with 12 in a team-leading 27 innings pitched. Moss is 2-2 with one complete game and one save. Freshman P Anna Scarbock (Alexandria, La.) is 10th in the league in ERA (4.42) and is 1-5 overall with one complete game. She has six K's in 25.1 innings of work. Senior P Ashley Hunter (Benton, La.) is 1-0 this season with a 5.44 ERA in 18 innings.
