Ladies' Season Ends With 8-7 Loss To St. Thomas in SCAC Tournament

Irving, Texas- The No. 6 seed Centenary softball team saw its season end on Saturday evening as the Ladies fell 8-7 to the No. 2 seed University of St. Thomas Celts in an elimination game of the 2022 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference Championship at the University of Dallas Softball Facility.

The Ladies, who defeated No. 4 seed Schreiner 8-5 earlier in the day in another elimination game, finish the season at 15-21 overall and went 7-14 in conference play during the regular season. Centenary fell 7-0 to No. 3 seed Trinity on Friday in its SCAC Championship opener as the Maroon and White were in the tournament for the sixth-straight season.

The Ladies broke a 1-1 tie after five innings with seven runs in the top of the sixth and held on after the Mountaineers scored four times in the seventh for the victory to keep their season alive.

Game 2 Recap: St. Thomas 8 Centenary 7

Centenary held a 7-6 lead needing three outs to keep its season going but the Celts rallied with a pair in the bottom of the seventh to record the walk-off win.
