Shreveport- The Centenary softball team recorded a doubleheader sweep of the University of Dallas Crusaders in Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference action on Saturday by scores of 7-4 and 6-3 at the Centenary Softball Complex.

The Ladies (8-10, 2-6 SCAC) go for the series sweep on Sunday over the Crusaders (5-19, 2-6 SCAC) at Noon. Live stats and live video are available for the series finale at the links below:

Game 1 Recap: Centenary 7 Dallas 4

The Ladies pounded out 11 hits and four players posted multi-hit performances as the Maroon and White recorded their 10th game of the season with double-digit hits and had 11 for the second game in a row after doing so in game two of last Saturday's DH at home versus Mississippi University for Women.

Freshman P Katelyn Moss (Olive Branch, Miss.) pitched a complete game and improved to 4-2 as she allowed four runs, three earned, on six hits with a walk and two strikeouts. She allowed one home run and tossed her second-straight CG and third of the season. Karina Campo (4-8) suffered the loss for the Crusaders as she went six innings and allowed seven runs, four earned, and 11 hits with a walk and two K's and hit two batters.

Dallas took a 2-0 lead after its first two at bats but Centenary scored three in the bottom of the second and added a single run in the third to take a 4-2 lead after three. The Ladies added three more in the fifth to extend their lead and the Crusaders scored two in the top of the seventh on a two-run home run by DP Annabel Anderson but Moss got a strikeout to end the game and seal the win.

Senior C Erin Lewis (Leesville, La.) crossed the plate for the Ladies' first run in the second on a fielder's choice groundout by freshman 1B Kaitlyn Dickey (Church Point, La.) and fellow freshman SS Brooke Sandefur (Baton Rouge, La.) singled home junior CF Mallory Stout (Trinity, Texas) to tie the game. Sophomore RF Mackenzie Cox (Alexandria, La.) followed with an RBI single to score Dickey for a 3-2 Centenary lead. Stout reached on a fielder's choice to score junior LF Kaylea Patridge (Las Vegas, Nev.) to extend the Ladies' lead to 4-2 after three.

Senior 2B Jaymee Wilkinson (Brazoria, Texas) doubled in Lewis in the fifth to make it 5-2 and freshman DP Alyssa Akers (Maurice, La.) had a two-RBI double to make it 7-2. Cox finished 2-4 with an RBI, Patridge was 2-4 with two doubles and a run scored, and Lewis finished 1-4 with a double and two runs scored. Wilkinson was 2-2 with an RBI and a run scored and Stout was 1-2 with an RBI and two runs scored. Akers, Sandefur, and Dickey combined to go 3-8 with four RBI and a run scored.

CF Emily Luna finished 2-3 with a run scored and RF Jennifer Schmalz went 1-2 with two runs scored, a stolen base, and a walk. Anderson was 1-3 with three RBI and a run scored.

Game 2 Recap: Centenary 6 Dallas 3

Dallas took a 1-0 lead with a run in the top of the third but the Ladies responded immediately with four in the bottom half and never trailed again to complete the doubleheader sweep with the 6-3 win. Centenary added single runs in the fourth and fifth and Dallas added two late runs in the sixth but left a pair on base and went in order in the seventh.

Freshman P Anna Scarbock (Alexandria, La.) pitched her second-career complete game and picked up the win to improve to 2-7. She allowed three runs, all earned, and 10 hits in seven innings with one walk and one strikeout. She faced 31 batters and threw 78 pitches, 52 for strikes. Dallas starter Caitlynn Freyman took the loss to fall to 1-3 as she allowed six runs, all earned, and seven hits in five innings of work. She walked four and struck out one, facing 27 batters and hitting three of them. Freyman threw 95 pitches, 48 for strikes. Devinne Green relieved her and went an inning and walked two.

C Lizette Sosa singled in Luna with the first run of the game for Dallas in the top of the third but the lead did not last long. In the bottom half, freshman 3B Viviana Rivero (Redondo Beach, Calif.) singled home Cox to tie the game and then Wilkinson was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to bring in the second run. Stout then ripped a two-RBI single up the middle for a 4-1 lead. Patridge delivered an RBI double to score Akers in the fourth and Wilkinson scored on an error by Sosa when Stout stole second for a 6-1 lead. Freyman had a two-RBI single in the sixth for the Crusaders' final runs of the game.

Stout finished 2-2 with two RBI and a stolen base, Akers was 1-2 with a run scored, and the Ladies' 2-5 hitters – Patridge, Rivero, Lewis, and Wilkinson, combined to go 3-11 with three RBI, four runs scored, and four walks. Cox went 0-2 from the leadoff spot but walked twice, scored a run, and stole three bases. Patridge also stole two bases and the Ladies walked six times and only struck out once. Luna, Sosa, and 1B Maddy Murphy each finished with two hits to lead the Crusaders.
