SCAC Releases 2022 Softball Tournament Bracket
The 2022 SCAC Softball Championship is set to begin on Friday, April 29 and will run through Sunday, May 1 in Irving, Texas on the campus of University of Dallas.

For the eighth consecutive conference tournament, Texas Lutheran (21-0 SCAC; 35-4 overall) will be the overall top seed. The defending national runner-up, the Bulldogs are currently ranked third in the nation and head into this weekend's tournament on an 18-game winning streak. With its three-game sweep of Trinity over the weekend, Texas Lutheran ends the regular season having won its last 62 conference games.
In just its second season as a varsity program, St. Thomas (14-7 SCAC; 22-13) will be the No. 2 seed and, along with TLU, will receive a first-round bye into Friday's winner's bracket contest.
Battling in first round match-ups on Friday, fourth-seeded Schreiner (12-9 SCAC; 15-25) will take on fifth-seeded Southwestern (9-12 SCAC; 14-24) at 11 a.m. and that will be followed by third-seeded Trinity (13-8 SCAC; 18-22) taking on the sixth-seed Centenary (7-14 SCAC: 14-19) in the 1:30 p.m. game. All times are Central.
Since the inception of the SCAC Softball Tournament in the 1999 season, Texas Lutheran (2014-19, 2021) and Trinity (1999, 2000-02, 2005-07) have each claimed seven tournament titles to lead the league. DePauw University has won three (2008-09, '11), Southwestern two (2010, '13) and Millsaps College (2003), Sewanee-University of the South (2004) and Birmingham-Southern College (2012) have one title apiece.
