Senior Emma Shepherd (Athens, La.) made history on Saturday in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference game at home against Southwestern University in the Ladies' 5-1 win as she struck out 14 batters, which is the most by a Centenary pitcher in a single game in the division III era (2012-present) of the program.
Shreveport - Senior Emma Shepherd (Athens, La.) made history on Saturday in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference game at home against Southwestern University in the Ladies' 5-1 win as she struck out 14 batters, which is the most by a Centenary pitcher in a single game in the division III era (2012-present) of the program.
Shepherd (3-3) went the distance in game one of Saturday's doubleheader and allowed one earned run and two hits in her seven innings of work. Shepherd's 14 K's are the most by a SCAC pitcher in a game this season.
The Ladies rallied from a late 6-0 deficit in game two to record a 7-6 victory and clinch a series sweep over the Pirates at the Centenary Softball Complex. Centenary won the series opener on Friday 6-0.
Centenary will take a break from conference play on Tuesday as the Ladies will face LeTourneau Unversity in a non-conference DH at home (4/6 PM).
