Shreveport - The Centenary women's soccer team exploded on offense in its exhibition match on Saturday afternoon against the University of Arkansas Cossatot, as the Ladies ran away from the Colts with a 12-0 victory at Mayo Field.
The Ladies took a break from regular-season play after falling 2-0 to the LeTourneau University YellowJackets on Tuesday evening in a non-conference contest in Longview, Texas. Saturday's match counted for the Colts (0-5) who are a member of the NJCAA and located in De Queen, Ark.
Centenary junior GK Madison Ersoff (Shreveport, La.) went the distance and recorded just one save, as the Colts were unable to muster any offense. Colts' GK Jackie Gonzalez also played the while match and made a whopping 18 saves.
Junior MF Aubrey Burkhardt (Bossier City, La.) and senior D Haleigh Gangloff (Pearland, Texas) each recorded a hat trick and six other Ladies scored a goal. Freshman F/MF Lowrey Lain (Haughton, La.) scored Centenary's first goal and fellow rookie, D/MF Kylee DeVore (Carrollton, Texas) scored the final goal of the day.
Sophomore MF Adele Bihler (Bossier City, La.), sophomore D/MF Kylie Zeller (Denham Springs, La.), senior F/MF Daisy Acosta (Deer Park, Texas), and freshman MF Caila Baldwin (Gretna, La.) also found the net.
Centenary returns to regular-season play and Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference play next weekend at home as the Ladies (1-6-2) will face Texas Lutheran University (4-2-3) on Friday, Oct. 6 at 5 p.m. and Southwestern University (3-6-1) on Sunday, Oct. 8 at Noon.
