Shreveport - The Centenary women's soccer team returns to the field on Friday evening as the Ladies will face the Texas Lutheran University Bulldogs in a Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference contest set for 5 p.m. at Mayo Field.

The Ladies (1-6-2) took a break from regular-season play last Saturday as they picked up a 12-0 victory University of Arkansas Cossatot in an exhibition match at home. The Bulldogs (4-3-3) lost at Trinity by a score of 4-0 on Sunday and enter Friday's action at 3-3-1 away from home this season while the Ladies are 1-1-2 at home this season. Friday's match is the conference opener for both teams.
The Bulldogs lead the all-time series 15-6-1 and won both matches against the Ladies last season. TLU was predicted to finish second (tied with Southwestern) in the preseason poll while the Ladies were picked to finish seventh.
Centenary junior GK Madison Ersoff (Shreveport, La.) enters the weekend as one of the top goalkeepers in the conference as she is currently ranked second in both goals against average (GAA) at 1.22 and saves (59). Ersoff, named the SCAC Defensive Player of the Week on Sept. 18, has recorded three shutouts this season and recorded five+ saves in a match even times this season.
The Bulldog's top offensive threat is Alyssa Simien and she is the conference leader in goals (seven), assists (four), and points (16) and Klarissa Martinez (4) and Callie Brame (3) have combined for seven goals, three assists, and 17 points.
Sophomore D/MF Kylie Zeller (Denham Springs, La.) owns the Ladies' lone goal this season and is the first of her career scored in Centenary's 1-0 win over Belhaven at home last month.
The Ladies wrap up their weekend with another SCAC contest against Southwestern University on Sunday, Oct. 8 at Noon.
