Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: Sept. 5 Edition

Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: Sept. 5 Edition

Hello Ladies Fans!!

This is senior Rylie Molina here to give you the scoop on what the Ladies were up to this week.

The Ladies made it through their second week of school successfully as everyone was finding their flow for the school year. On Monday, the team had Dr. Rachel Johnson join us for our team study hall. Dr. Johnson gave us many tips on studying, time management, and goal setting both in and out of the classroom. We will always remember to prioritize, organize, and focus in everything we do. We are so grateful for her guidance and can't wait to apply it for an amazing year.

Thursday was the Ladies first official team work out!! Coach Meg came up with such a good workout to get the body moving and the muscles sore. Check up on us later in the year to see how jacked we get. After workouts, we had a meeting with one of our alumni (and my sister) Sierra Ponder, who is now working as a sports psych and helping us get prepared for the upcoming season. We are so excited to be working with her and are very thankful for her help.

On Friday, the Ladies supported the Ladies volleyball team as they went head-to-head with Howard Payne. We all met up at the Dome to cheer them on in the tournament they were hosting. They did so well, and we can't wait to see what they have in store for the rest of their season.

On Sunday, the Ladies showed up and showed out at the Jill's to help fix the floor. We really showed our Bob the Builder skills with all the drilling, lifting, and moving that was being done. It was a full construction zone in there! In the end though, we fixed the entire floor, and it has never been better. We are so lucky to be able to use the Jill's to practice and what better way to say thank you than helping with equipment. The ladies then took a quick lunch break and went right back to the gym for an amazing Sunday practice. The energy in the gym was electric and we're so excited for everyone to see it in the dome this season. Shout out to all our bar stars for throwing and/or catching releases and shout out to our vault shakers for flipping and twisting those vaults.

Overall, the Ladies had an awesome week and are ready for the many more to come. Tune in next week to hear what senior Roxy Myers has to say and as always, GO LADIES!!
