St. Charles, Mo. – The Centenary gymnastics team finished fifth on Saturday evening in the annual Midwest Independent Conference Championships hosted by Lindenwood University with a 188.550 score inside Robert F. Hyland Arena.

The host Lions won the meet with a score of 196.075 ahead of second-place Texas Woman's University (195.875), third-place Illinois State University (195.100), and fourth-place Southeast Missouri State University (194.275).

The Ladies posted a 47.750 on floor for their best event score of the meet followed by a 47.300 on vault, 47.925 on beam, and a 46.475 on bars.

Senior Rylie Molina (Moss Bluff, La.) highlighted the meet for the Ladies as she scored a career-high 9.775 on beam to finish 14^th. Freshman Olivia Williams (Cape Coral, Fla.) led the way on floor with a career-high 9.725 to place 21^st, sophomore Amy Foret (Bedford, Texas) and sophomore Sophie Schmitz (Trophy Club, Texas) had the Ladies' top finish on vault as they tied for 25^th place at 9.525. Senior Roxanne Myers (Prairieville, La.) had the Ladies' top finish on bars with a 9.425 to finish in 18^th place.

Schmitz, who finished 23^rd on beam with a career-high 9.60 and 27^th on floor with a 9.40, finished fifth in the All-Around (37.825). Foret finished 20th on beam with a 9.70, senior Isabel Plaza (San Antonio, Texas) finished 27^th on vault with a 9.50 and senior Kendall Huff (Riviera, Texas) was 28^th with a 9.45. Sophomore Claire Flores (Oklahoma City, Okla.) finished 25^th on floor with a career-high 9.65.

Centenary now waits to see if any of its gymnasts qualify for next month's USA Gymnastics Women's Collegiate National Championships held in West Chester, Pa. from April 12-14.

Individuals who qualify for the national championships are determined by their National Qualifying Score (NQS) in respective events. For the individual competitors, the top five individual scores from each session will advance to the individual finals on Sunday, April 14 at 1 p.m.
