Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: January 10 Edition

Happy Meet Season, Ladies Fans!

It is Senior Izzie Plaza here with your favorite article of the week: Centenary Gymnastics Gym Talk! The Ladies are so excited to be starting their season off strong at SEMO this Friday at 6:30 pm CT. Come watch us in person or on ESPN+. Also, everybody wish Junior Emma Lavelle a Happy 21st Birthday and while we're at it lets wish Centenary Gymnastics a Happy 60th! Wow I can't believe that we are already in 2024, I was just moved in to my freshman year dorm yesterday.

Coming back from winter break is always tough, but you would never know it watching these Ladies. Every lady is putting in her all to make sure that Centenary starts the season with a bang. We started the week off strong with a new leotard, go check out our Instagram if you want a sneak peek: @centenarygymnastics. And what better way to start off the New Year then by celebrating our Academic Weapons who all made the Dean's List in the fall semester: Hayden Cagle, Olivia Stratman, Claire Flores, Sophie Schmitz, Emma Lavelle, Izzie Plaza, Kendall Huff, and Lacey Wedge. The Centenary Ladies are talented both on and off the competition floor! This week we focused on our individual and team goals both academically and athletically. Big shout out to Coach Meg for giving us all the yummy meals to keep us going this week. As a celebration for the first week back the Ladies had a bonfire where we got to watch our Captains duke it out on the dance floor (hopefully you caught that Instagram story.)

In other news, in the gym the Ladies are proving to be an unstoppable force. Our vault shakers have been working hard to make sure they are flying high and sticking low. Shoutout to Olivia Stratman for that gorgeous full-on tuck off!

The Bar Stars are taking no days off. Between the gorgeous Jaegers, Maloneys, and Shaposhes I don't know how anyone can keep up with them. Extra special shoutout to Freshman Olivia Williams for showing us that you really can fly! Seriously you guys have to watch her bar dismount it is to die for.

The Beam Queens are on their thrones like always with hit skills and gorgeous dance. Senior Rylie Molina has shown us that to be beam royalty you really can work hard and still look good doing it! Our very own freshman Hayden Cagle is having her own rise to royalty, and I can't wait to see what she has in store for us.

Last, but never least, the Floor Roars are showing us that you can be graceful and powerful all at once. Super Senior Lacey Wedge defies gravity with her sky high arabian double. I cannot wait to see what these ladies are going to do this season and I am so excited to be spending my last season with these girls!

This is Senior Izzie Plaza wishing y'all a Happy Gymnastics Season!
