Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: September 28 Edition

Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: September 28 Edition

Hello Ladies Fans! It is Kendall Huff back with my first gym talk of my super senior year. Bet you did not think you would get to hear from me again!

The Ladies have been doing amazing things inside and outside the gym this past week. To start our week off, we had a very special guest, Kaity Mussio, come talk to us! Kaity is a Centenary gymnastics alum who graduated in 2018. She is now a professional performer traveling the world. Since her career started, she has been in Cirque du Soleil with shows in Dubai and Las Vegas. This week starts her tour with the Ringling Brothers right here in the Shreveport/Bossier area. We cannot wait to go watch her perform this weekend and hopefully some of you all can join as well!

Inside the gym the Ladies have been ROCKING it. The energy has been amazing, and it has been helping the Ladies to keep improving every day. The Vault Shakers continue to upgrade their vaults by adding more and more mats to the pit. Shout out to Olivia Stratmann for flipping her full-on tuck off vaults this week! The BAR stars continue to focus on their bardio (bar cardio) as well as upgrades. Shout out to Isabel Plaza and Emma Lavelle for doing their dismounts on the set! Another round of shout outs to Roxanne Myers for catching her jaeger on the set and Sophie Schmitz’s consistency with her beautiful jaegers. The Beam Queens continue to HIT more and more every day. Shout out to Emily McClung and Mylia Vidtor for moving their aerials to the high beam! The Floor Roars have continued to push their endurance to get into tip-top position for when we add in full tumbling. This last week we started adding a little bit of tumbling to our routines! We also added the purple resi into our pit to have a sturdier landing. Shout out to Lacey Wedge for her beautiful double Arabian onto the purple resi!

To end our week off we had a few alumni stop by the gym and support us: Madison McCarry (class of 2022) and Kaity Mussio (Class of 2018). Ashley Koepnick (class of 2018) who is our volunteer assistant coach was, of course, there as well! We LOVE it when we have alumni stop in and see us!

That is all for this week’s gym talk! Make sure to tune in next week to see how the Ladies are doing!

With all my love,

Kendall Huff, XOXO
