The Ladies (4-0) remained undefeated on the season with a 3-0 victory over the St. Thomas Celts in its SCAC opener on Feb. 26 in Houston. The 'Roos (0-1) fell at home last weekend to Trinity, 1-0, in their season opener. Centenary swept a pair of games over Austin College last season by a combined score of 7-0 and have not lost to the 'Roos since the 2015 season.

Centenary recorded its third-straight shutout as the Maroon and White have only allowed one goal all season, outscoring the opposition, 12-1. The Ladies have won 20 of their last 23 matches dating back to the beginning of last season and are 10-2 in their last 12 road matches.

Senior midfielder Pamela Fonesca (Houston, Texas) scored her first goal of the season and sixth of her career freshman against the Celts. Freshman defender Jacie Landry (Cecilia, La.) scored her first-career goal and Centenary added a late insurance goal in the 85th minute as sophomore midfielder Yosi Bouslog (Friendswood, Texas) scored her first-career goal. Senior goalkeeper Maggie Pitcher (San Antonio, Texas) played all 90 minutes and had five saves and recorded another shutout, her third this season and ninth of her career which ties her for the most career shutouts in the division III era (2012-present).

Ten different Ladies have scored goals this season including four by true freshmen. Centenary is now one shutout away from tying its single-season record of five which it set last season. The Ladies also recorded four shutouts in the 2013 and 2016 seasons.

Pitcher was named the SCAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Monday for games played through Sunday, February 28th, earning the honor for the first time in her career. Pitcher currently leads the SCAC with 16 saves and has an impressive .941 save percentage to start the year.

Saturday's match is the first of four-straight home matches for the Ladies. Centenary plays host to Mississippi University for Women on Tuesday, March 9 at 5 p.m. and then return to SCAC play as they square off with the University of Dallas (March 13) at 3:30 p.m. and Schreiner (March 20) at 2 p.m. in consecutive weeks at home.
