The Ladies (8-1, 4-1 SCAC) return to the field where their superb 2019 season ended, as they fell to the Pirates, 1-0, in a heartbreaking loss on Nov. 9, 2019 in the semifinals of the SCAC Championship. Just six days prior to that meeting, the teams battled at Mayo Field in the Ladies' final home match of the season with Southwestern earning a 2-1 win in double overtime. Southwestern enters Saturday's match at 3-1 overall (3-1 SCAC) and has won two matches in a row.
Centenary blanked the Texas Lutheran Bulldogs, 2-0, last Saturday on the road to set a division III era (2011-present) single-season record for shutouts in a season with its seventh in nine games this season. Ladies' senior goalkeeper Maggie Pitcher (San Antonio, Texas) was named the SCAC Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week on Monday as she earned the honor for the second time this season after previously being named POTW on March 1. Pitcher becomes the only player in the conference this season on the defensive side of the ball to earn the weekly honor twice. Last Saturday's shutout was her seventh of the season and 13th of her career as she played all 90 minutes and recorded five saves.
Pitcher, who leads the SCAC in shutouts, currently ranks second in the league in goals against average (0.22), second in save percentage with a stellar .944, and is third in saves with 34. She is tied for third in the country in shutouts, is 19th in GAA, 20th in save percentage, and is tied for 38th in saves.

Centenary has now posted shutouts over seven of its nine opponents this season and have outscored the opposition 20-2. Centenary, which won a program-record 16 games last season, can tie the 2018 team for the second-most wins (9) in the D3 era with a win on Saturday. The single-season record for conference wins in a season in the D3 era is six set in 2018 and tied last season and wins in the Ladies' final two matches this season will match that mark.
Centenary, which leads the SCAC in wins, enters Saturday's match tops in the conference in goals (20) and points (49) and had allowed the fewest goals in the league (2). The Ladies are also leading in assists (9), shots (154), and shutouts (7) and are tied for 12th in the country in division III in goals and tied for 18th in points.

The goal was Bascomb's third of the season as she scored for the second game in a row after doing so at home versus Schreiner on March 20 interestingly with an assist from Gilbert. Sophomore MF Celeste Muniz (Denton, Texas) added a late goal to make it 2-0 in the 80th minute, her second goal of the season and third of her career.
