St. Charles, Mo. - The Centenary gymnastics team returns to action on Sunday as the Ladies will face host Lindenwood University and Simpson College in a tri-meet set for 1 p.m. inside Hyland Arena.

The Ladies (0-3) earned a 182.150 team score last Saturday to finish second to the Greenville University Panthers in a non-conference dual meet in Greenville, Ill in their most recent action. Lindenwood (5-2) is 1-0 at home this season after the Lions defeated Greenville on Jan. 14. Simpson (0-3) fell at Wisconsin-Oshkosh on the road last weekend.

Senior Lacey Wedge (Belle Chasse, La.) had the Ladies' highest score of the meet at Greenville as she earned an impressive 9.625 on vault to finish second, nearly matching her career high of 9.70 set last season. Wedge just missed a victory as Greenville's Amara Nelson won with a 9.65. The Ladies earned their best event score of the meet on vault (47.550) and finished with a 46.725 on beam, a 44.50 on bars, and a 43.375 on floor.

Sophomore Sophie Schmitz (Trophy Club, Texas) won the bars competition with a 9.275 and freshman Olivia Williams (Cape Coral, Fla.) tied for third place with a 9.20. Senior Rylie Molina (Moss Bluff, La.) had the Ladies' top finish on beam (9.525) as she placed fourth.

Sophomore Amy Foret (Bedford, Texas) finished fifth on beam with a 9.475 and freshman Brooke Murdock (Garland, Texas) received a 9.45 to finish sixth. Junior Mylia Vidtor (The Colony, Texas) placed seventh with a 9.30. Murdock was the Ladies' top finisher on floor with a 9.00.

Senior Isabel Plaza (San Antonio, Texas) finished third on vault with a 9.525, sophomore Olivia Stratmann (Houston, Texas) recorded a 9.50 to place fourth, Schmitz finished fifth with a 9.475, senior Kendall Huff (Riviera, Texas) tied for sixth with a 9.425, and Foret finished eighth with a 9.40.

The Ladies finished second to the Texas Woman's University Pioneers in a Midwest Independent Conference dual meet in their home opener on Jan. 21 with a season-best 184.150. Centenary improved upon its 181.325 that it scored in the season-opening meet on Jan. 12 against the Southeast Missouri State University (SEMO) Redhawks in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

Stratmann earned the Ladies' top score on vault versus TWU with a season-best 9.65 to place seventh. Wedge earned a 9.625 to place eighth, Schmitz finished ninth with a season and new career-high 9.50. Foret and Plaza tied for 10th place at 9.475 and Huff was 12th (9.45).

Junior Emma Lavelle (Mandeville, La.) had the Ladies' best finish on beam (9.625) to place fourth. Molina was fifth (9.60) and Foret tied for seventh place with a 9.50. Schmitz was the Ladies' top finisher on bars (9.375) to place fifth and Stratmann and Williams tied for seventh place at 9.15. Stratmann's score is her personal best and Williams made her debut in the event. Plaza had Centenary's top score on floor with a new career-high 9.45 to place seventh and Wedge finished eighth at 9.25.

Foret recorded Centenary's best individual score of the season-opening meet at SEMO with an impressive 9.675 on beam to finish third, also the Ladies' highest finish of the meet. Schmitz earned a 9.60 on bars to finish fourth and Huff was the Ladies' top finisher on floor as she scored a 9.35 to finish fifth.

Freshman Hayden Cagle (Austin, Texas), Murdock, and Williams all made their collegiate debuts and Vidtor made her Ladies' debut after being sidelined by injuries in her first two seasons as did sophomore Claire Flores (Oklahoma City, Okla.) and Stratmann as each missed their rookie seasons with injuries.

The Ladies return home next weekend for a very special weekend in the Gold Dome as Centenary holds its 60th anniversary celebration of the sport on campus and feature a pair of meets – the first on Friday, Feb. 9 against Alaska and Talladega at 7 p.m. and then on Sunday, Feb. 11 for a quad meet featuring the Ladies against Alaska, Greenville, and Talladega. The Feb. 9 meet will also be the annual Sylvia Keiter Memorial Meet and the entire weekend will be a welcome of all Centenary gymnastics' alumnae.
