Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: March 13 Edition

Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: March 13 Edition

WHAT UP LADIES FANS! :) It's sophomore Sophie Schmitz here for this week's gym talk featuring our double meet weekend across Pennsylvania and New York … Go Bills. The Ladies had a long weekend as we began our adventures Thursday morning and returned to our home at the Dome Monday afternoon.

Friday:

Meet time didn't start until 7 PM, so the Ladies were able to enjoy their morning with some coffee, breakfast, and studying at a local café on campus called Saxby's. After being the academic weapons that we are, we headed back to the hotel to get ready for meet one! Our first meet of the weekend was a tri-meet at West Chester hosting your lovely Ladies along with William & Mary. The bar stars started us off strong on bars with some killer routines! Roxy Myers set a new season and career-high on bars. As we pushed further through the meet, we had plenty of other achievements to come. Mylia Vidtor broke her career and season-high on beam. Lacey Wedge tied her career and season-high on vault, and Amy Foret, and myself (Sophie Schmitz), broke a season and career-high on vault. Mylia Vidtor also made her vault line up debut starting us off strong as our lead off! Kendall Huff scored a season-high on floor and Lacey Wedge scored a career and season-high on floor, contributing to the Ladies scoring their highest floor total of the season!

Saturday:

After a great start to our weekend at Westchester, the Ladies were heading off to New York to prepare for meet two at Cornell. We spent the day with Coach Joseph's family at their house with lots of yummy food waiting for us when we arrived. The Ladies used this time to relax, watch movies, play games, do homework, ice bath recovery, and even pet some donkeys and goats!

Sunday:

The Ladies competed in a dual meet against Cornell in the final meet of the weekend. We started on bars once again, and our bar stars did not fail to amaze! We had many more achievements to follow from Friday! Roxy Myers broke her career and season-high on bars from Friday at Cornell! Izzie Plaza tied her career and season-high on vault. Olivia Williams made her vault lineup debut and stepped up to the plate when we needed her most. She also tied her career and season-high on bars. Rylie Molina tied her season and career-high on beam like the beam queen she is. Claire Flores tied her season and career-high on floor. The Ladies also scored their highest bar total for the season at Cornell!

Overall, the Ladies really showed what it means to be a Lady this weekend through our three values: Passion, Perseverance, and Loyalty. Double meet weekends are never easy, but the Ladies had a lot of fun and had a lot of highs and accomplishments along the way! Stay tuned for next weekend when the Ladies take on Texas at their last meet before conference!

Special shout out to my mom for always greeting us at the airport when we arrive back to Dallas and even providing the Ladies with lunch after a long morning of traveling! You're the best and we love you!

Catch y'all on the flippity flip ;)
