Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: March 5 Edition

Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: March 5 Edition

Hey Ladies' Gymnastics Fans!

It's your seniors here with this week’s Gym Talk.

This past week marked our senior celebration, a time filled with festivities for both us, the seniors, and our fellow fifth-year teammates. On Saturday night, we were treated to a memorable senior dinner at the renowned Raising Cane's Chicken Fingers. It was absolutely delicious and to our delight, the Canes manager surprised us with goody bags filled with Cane's merchandise. A heartfelt shoutout goes to our devoted moms who decorated the dinner table with meticulous decorations, making the evening truly special. Their dedication made everything possible, and we're immensely grateful. Following our indulgent feast, we took Sunday to rest and recharge in preparation of our final home meet of the season.

Come Monday, amidst the hustle and bustle of morning classes, we geared up for GO TIME one last time in the Dome. As we entered the locker room, we were met with a breathtaking sight – life-sized posters showcasing us seniors in our former competition leotards, our lockers overflowed with thoughtful goodies from our parents, and the room was adorned with heartfelt tributes to our journey. A wave of emotion washed over us, perhaps even eliciting a tear or two. Our parents' tireless efforts behind the scenes often goes unnoticed, but their support deserves every bit of recognition. To all the moms and dads, we extend our deepest gratitude!

Senior night was a blast and there were so many career highs made! Olivia Williams set a new career/season high on floor and tied season/career high on bars. Brooke Murdock set a new career/season high on beam. Sophie Schmitz tied her season high on bars and made her debut on floor. Claire Flores set a new season/career high on bars and debuted on floor. Amy Foret tied her season high on vault. Mylia Vidtor set a new career/season high on beam and debuted on vault. Lacey Wedge set a new career/season high on floor, and Ceci Paredes debuted on bars! The evening unfolded beautifully, finishing with a touching ceremony honoring the seniors and fifth years. With our families by our side, we took our final walks across the floor, creating memories to last a lifetime.

To Centenary Gymnastics: thank you for an incredible four years! We already miss you all dearly.

With gratitude,

Your Seniors: Izzie, Rylie, and Roxy
