US Air Force Academy, Colo. - The Centenary gymnastics team finished third on Friday night in a tri-meet against the host Air Force Academy Falcons and the UC-Davis Aggies with a team score of 185.375 inside Cadet West Gym.

UC-Davis won the meet with a 195.350, edging Air Force (194.350). The Ladies were coming off a successful weekend at home in which they earned a season-best 189.150 in a pair of meets on Friday night in a tri-meet against Alaska Anchorage and Talladega College and then on Sunday in a quad-meet against Alaska Anchorage, Greenville University, and Talladega.

The Ladies' top event score of the meet was on vault – 47.150, followed by a 46.425 on floor, 46.200 on beam, and a 45.600 on bars. The Aggies, a division 1 school ranked 43rd in the latest Road to Nationals rankings, earned a 49.200 on bars, 48.900 on vault, a 48.850 on beam, and a 48.525 on floor. The Falcons, also a D1 school ranked 54th, earned a 49.125 on bars, 48.875 on floor, 48.550 on vault, and a 47.800 on beam.

Air Force's Maggie Slife won the bars competition with a 9.925, UC-Davis' Ava Scafani won on beam with a 9.875, the Aggies' Keanna Abraham claimed the vault title (9.90), Slife won on floor (9.875), and claimed the All-Around title with a 39.225.

Senior Lacey Wedge (Belle Chasse, La.) earned the Ladies' top score of the meet on vault with a season-high 9.725 to tie for seventh place. Junior Emma Lavelle (Mandeville, La.) was the Ladies' top finisher on beam with a new career-high 9.675 to place sixth, Wedge led the way on floor as she tied for seventh with a 9.65 and freshman Olivia Williams (Cape Coral, Fla.) earned a new season and career-high 9.60 on floor to tie for 10th.

Senior Isabel Plaza (San Antonio, Texas) earned a solid 9.55 on vault to tie for 12th, sophomore Sophie Schmitz (Trophy Club, Texas) finished in a tie for 14th with a 9.525, and sophomore Amy Foret (Bedford, Texas) recorded a 9.45 to finish 16th.

The Ladies will now be off for 10 days in preparation for their final regular-season meet at home as they face division II University of Bridgeport (Conn.) on Monday, Feb. 26 at 6 p.m. in the Gold Dome. Centenary will honor its 2024 senior class that evening.
