Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: January 17 Edition

Centenary Ladies Gym Talk: January 17 Edition

What's up Ladies Gymnastics fans!! It's senior Rylie Molina here with this week's Gym Talk.

The Ladies were very busy this week preparing for their very first meet of the 2024 season!! Not only was it the first meet of the season, but it was also the Ladies' first day of the spring semester. All the Ladies are so smart, and we can't wait to have an amazing semester. Thursday, we traveled to Cape Girardeau, Missouri to compete against Southeastern Missouri in their home opener. The Ladies were so excited and could not wait to get there, no matter how cold it was.

When we finally arrived in Cape Girardeau on Thursday night, the Ladies hit the hay immediately. We woke up the next morning, ate some breakfast, put in some study hall hours and got on our way getting ready for an evening full of fun. The Ladies wore their usual attire, but instead of a ribbon matching our leotard, we wore gold ribbons in support of Lindenwood Gymnastics. The Ladies had an amazing warmup and then it was go time. This meet, we had seven new people within the four lineups and for six of them, it was their college debut.

Three freshmen, Hayden Cagle, Brooke Murdock, and Olivia Williams, contributed to one or more lineup. It is so exciting to see all these freshmen faces in lineups. Sophomores, Olivia Stratmann and Claire Flores both made their college debut this weekend. Both competed bars and Olivia competed vault. We are so proud of all their hard work. Another sophomore, Sophie Schmitz, competed on beam for the first time and rocked it. Sophomore Amy Foret was exceptional as our beam anchor with a score of 9.675, and the best part is that she only got cleared to do gymnastics a month ago! We couldn't be more proud of all her hard work in the gym and we are so happy to have her back.

Junior Mylia Vidtor also had her college debut on beam, and we can't wait to see what this season has in store for her. Senior Izzie Plaza made her floor debut this weekend with a beautiful new routine. Overall, the Ladies had a whole lot of fun this weekend and we were so excited to come home and work on making everything better. After only a day of being back, the snow hit hard! That meant snow day for the Ladies!

We can't wait to see y'all next week for our home opener against TWU at 2PM on Sunday January 21st! Check back next week, senior Roxanne Myers is going to tell you all about it. GO LADIES!
