Shreveport- The Centenary lacrosse team fell 14-12 to the Earlham College Quakers in its home finale on Saturday at Mayo Field.

The Gents (1-6) had a quick turnaround after scoring a program-record 23 goals on Friday in a dominant 23-2 victory over the Spalding University Golden Eagles. Earlham improved to 3-3 with the win.

Saturday was Centenary's final home game of the season as the Maroon and White will play their final five games of the regular season on the road.

The Quakers outscored the Gents 6-3 in the first quarter and the Gents responded with a 5-3 edge in the second to make it 9-8 at halftime. The second half was much lower scoring, as Earlham outscored Centenary 5-4 to win by two goals.

Earlham took 39 shots to Centenary's 38 and picked up 46 ground balls while the Gents finished with 35. The Gents went 21-25 on clears and the Quakers finished 14-21. Centenary turned the ball over 20 times and Earlham gave it away 18 times.

Sophomore GK Dylan Miller (Shreveport, La.) started in goal and made 10 saves in his 60 minutes. Emmitt Shaughnessy started for the Quakers, playing all 60 minutes, and made 16 saves. Sophomore A G'Colby Spivey (Dallas, Texas) led the Gents with four goals and Sam Sargent scored a game-high five goals for the Quakers.

Sophomore A Braxton Parchman (Shreveport, La.) scored three for the second day in a row and senior M/A Kyle Comi (Allen, Texas) also recorded a hat trick after a give-goal performance on Friday. Freshman A Liam Johns (Shreveport, La.) had a team-high three assists and freshman MF Dominic Ogier (St. Louis, Mo.) added two.

Spivey added one assist and took a team-high nine shots with seven on goal and added four ground balls. Parchman took eight shots, five on goal, had two ground balls and a cause turnover. Comi took seven shots, six on goal, and had two ground balls and two caused turnovers. Senior A/MF Mark Temple (Houston, Texas) took seven shots, three coming on goal, with two GB's and two CT's. Senior John Mark Waniewski (Bossier City, La.) scored once and added a GB and a CT.

Freshman FO Chris Masterson (Zachary, La.) had a team-high six GB's and tallied two CT's. Freshman MF Seven Davillier (Shreveport, La.) had three GB's and two CT's and senior D Ethan Little (Tyler, Texas) added three GB's. Senior D Chris Dant (Bossier City, La.) had three GB's, junior D Matthew Lulich (New Orleans, La.) had two, and sophomore Alex Nicks-Davis (Nashville, Tenn.) had two.

Junior LSM Ben Vazquez (San Antonio, Texas) had two GB's and the Gents got one each from senior MF Blake Federico (Boerne, Texas) and sophomore D Kaleb Coates (Shreveport, La.).

Sargent took 14 shots (11 on goal) and had a game-high four assists. Jacob Banfield added three goals and Robert Gift and Elijah Gamber each scored two. Ben Atkins led the Quakers in ground balls with eight and Donovan Shea led in CT's with four.

The Gents are back in action on Saturday, April 1 at Anderson University in Anderson, Ind. in a non-conference game set for Noon.
