Gents Fall At Colorado College On Sunday

Colorado Springs, Colo. - The Centenary lacrosse team completed its weekend road trip with a 22-3 loss to the Colorado College Tigers on Sunday in a Heartland Collegiate Lacrosse Conference contest at Washburn Field.

The Gents (2-9, 2-3 HCLC) fell 20-5 to the Whittier College Poets on Friday afternoon in a non-conference neutral-site contest at Washburn Field. The Tigers (6-6) defeated Whittier 14-6 on Saturday.

Senior A/MF Mark Temple (Houston, Texas) scored all three of Centenary's goals to give him 12 this season. The Tigers jumped out to an 8-0 lead after the first period and led 15-2 at halftime. Temple scored a pair of goals in the second quarter and added one in the third. All three of his goals were unassisted. The Tigers outscored the Gents 7-1 after halftime.

Sophomore GK Alex Nicks-Davis (Nashville, Tenn.) played all 60 minutes and made a season-high 24 saves. Colorado College played three goalies – Eli Turovsky, Pat Mahoney, and Bobby Spence. Mahoney started and got the win as he made five of the Tigers' nine saves.

The Tigers took 68 shots to the Gents' 17 and finished with a 49-17 edge in ground balls. CC won 23 of 29 face off opportunities and each team finished 21-31 on clears. Centenary turned the ball over 28 times and CC did so 20 times.

Senior D Chris Dant (Bossier City, La.), Nicks-Davis, and freshman MF Seven Davillier (Shreveport, La.) each had three ground balls to lead the team. Senior D Ethan Little (Tyler, Texas) and junior LSM Jackson Ossman (Shreveport, La.) tied for the team lead in caused turnovers with three each.

Max Lyski scored a game-high four goals for the Tigers, Thomas Power scored three, and Dylan Wells and Winston Chodnicki each scored two. Makay Hansen tallied a game-high three assists and Wells added two.

The Gents will finish their regular season with an HCLC contest at Southwestern University (7-8, 2-1 HCLC) on Saturday, April 15 at 1 p.m. in Georgetown, Texas.
