Soccer Prepare for Busy Weekend against Texas Lutheran, Southwestern

SHREVEPORT, La. - It will be a busy weekend for the Centenary soccer teams when Texas Lutheran visits Mayo Field Friday night at 5 p.m. while Southwestern comes to Shreveport Sunday at noon. Both dates are doubleheaders with the Ladies playing first.

For the first time ever from Mayo Field on College TV Ticket, all four games will be streamed live. To celebrate, all games will be shown for free; however, people who would like to view the game will still have to register and login with a username and a password.

The Records

The Ladies (1-2, 1-0 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) and Texas Lutheran (1-3, 1-0 SCAC) battle for early season conference lead on Friday night, September 15. Meanwhile, both the Gents (0-3-1, 0-1 SCAC) and Texas Lutheran (1-3-1, 0-1 SCAC) look for their first conference win.

Coming into the weekend, Southwestern men are 3-2 overall and 1-0 in conference play, while Southwestern women are 0-4 overall and 0-1 in SCAC play. The Pirates visit Mayo field Sunday, September 17.

Sophomore Betza Bravo recently was named SCAC Player of the Week after her scoring her first collegiate goal and adding an assist on the game winner.

The Centenary soccer teams travel to Dallas next Friday, September 22, for a doubleheader with the Crusaders beginning with the Ladies at 3 p.m. While the Ladies do not have a game on Sunday, September 24, the Gents play at Colorado College at noon (11 a.m. MDT).
