Gents Cannot Hold Early Lead in 4-1 Loss to #4 Trinity

SHREVEPORT, La. - The first shot on goal proved to be on the mark for the Gents, but the Tigers scored the equalizer quickly and the game-winner right before half as Centenary (0-7-2, 0-5-1 Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference) fell to #4 Trinity (9-1, 5-1 SCAC) 4-1 Friday night, September 29.

With freshman Francisco Simoncini tight to the line right side, he served the ball into the center of the box. Classmate Greg Petreas put a head on the ball and beat the goalie near post to record his first collegiate score. However, Austin Michaelis answered five minutes later when he cleaned up a goalie save for the visitors.

Jacob Hellenberger assisted the next two goals, and then finished off the game with his own score as Trinity won 4-1.

Senior goalie Kalbe Behm took the loss for Centenary, grabbing seven saves on 11 shots faced. Blake Lieberman tallied a save for the Tigers.

Centenary returns to action Sunday, October 1, against Schreiner. Kickoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
